Iowa doesn’t stress defense, and their players have taken on the attitude of their coach by whining and complaining about anything that doesn’t go their way.

Can’t go very far in the tournament with those traits.

TJ has really stressed to his players not to worry about the things they can’t control (like the refs), and only worry about what they can control. Love that!

Fran can get ‘em to score but he’s like Fred, Defense is not a priority. The team’s that win in the tournament come after you hard and hit you in the mouth. The refs let things go and the soft teams wilt. Iowa under Fran fall in the soft category.

Fred's defenses were never nearly as bad as Iowa's was this season according to Kenpom

I feel like Fred coached his studs to not foul but generally had good help d and rotations. Also some of our mismatches on offense were caused by play suboptimal players on defense.

And to think, Iowa could be starting Touissant and Perkins at the guard spots, but Fran and Marge wanted Connor to play more, so Touissant transferred.

Iowa is out in round 1, but at least the great Connor got to play a lot this year…. so you’ve got that Iowa fans!
