Yeah, I just had to look it up as well. I thought it was a few years ago when their stud jumped up on the scorers table after the win. That must have been the year they came just short.

That was after the semi's win over UCLA to send them to the title game.

The 1980 Purdue final four team had the weirdest coaching situation of any team that has made it that far. Lee Rose only coached two years. Hated the AD. Threatened to leave after the first year. After the final four, he left and the players said good riddance.

He’s infuriating to watch because of this. Nothing gets called on him when he’s clearly hooking and throwing high elbows at times along with lane violations.
