Has anyone received one of these through the mail and not paid? Is so, what can the consequences be? I usually use my dad's I-Pass when I head over there but I must have forgot to take it out of the glove compartment this go around

I've heard those can be negotiated down to just the toll amount

Each one you dont pay I believe gets turned into a 20 dollar fine after 7 days. so it can rack up real quick. As far as not paying those violations i dont know what happens after that.

I got lost in the burbs visiting college friends. Somehow racked up $200.

Obviously I'm concerned if it effects credit and if the Iowa DOT will suspend my registration.

Wow.

I'd check into paying off in installments or something.

Otherwise I'd assume the fine keeps going up.

You racked up 200 just driving?

Yeah the post above is correct in saying that they turn to $20 if you dont pay within 7 days and $50 a violation if you dont pay the notice within 30 days.

I travel over there quite a bit for friends and Cubs games so I'm thinking the best route is to just pay up.

Weird, I only just had to pay the $11.70.

I live in Iowa, but own one of the EZ-Passes that we use with whatever vehicle we take. Every time I go through an "open toll" I look to see if the pass is on the window. Paying the tolls is bad enough, so I'm a bit paranoid about getting fines too.
