Volleyball opening match vs. Cincinnati

We won, 25-23, 25-18, 25-20. From want I saw from the blog, I thought we played pretty well for the first match. Cincy is recieving votes and returned everyone except their setter. Bigbee, Malloy, and Nolan were the freshman who played; Bigbee had a great match with 11 kills and no errors, also Matlock and Hockaday played great too. We play Florida State next, and they wipped Tennesse tonight in straight sets. Hopefully we beat them so the taste of not making the Final 4 won't be as bitter.

It sounds like our digging was on point today...which was what did us in (among other things) against FSU last year...Our middles need to step up against those beasts on the other side...I'm looking for a close 5 set match with the Clones pulling it out.

I know it sounds cliche but if CJL and company want to get to the next level (ala final 4 and big 12 title) a sweep tomorrow would be nice.

While wins on Sat. Would be nice, I won't be to worried with a loss or two this early.

Considering the competition in this tournament a loss against a high caliber team won't hurt a bit.
