I wanted to make sure he got his own thread today. I don’t care what his stat line says, he played great today! As he continues to figure things out and get more comfortable he’s going to be a major problem in this league going forward.

Play Holmes and Watson together more. It is elementary.
I really like this freshman class. Watson especially is just oozing with potential and upside. I felt similar watching a freshman Rahshon Clark, he clearly belongs at this level, but also can clearly grow into more than he's currently asked to do.
He made a few beautiful back door cuts as well as some very smart passes under the hoop today for assists. Thought he gave great minutes.
Especially once his shooting improves, he will be a perfect complementary player. Great defense and rebounding, good cutter, and a really good passer for a 3/4 type.
He is a really smart defender for a freshman. He knows how to use his length and doesn't gamble or foul when his man drives. Just extends his arms and makes it tough.
Watson is, what they in the business call, a glue guy. He has a great understanding of positioning both offensively and, especially, defensively. I won’t say he is always in the right place at the right time, but damn near.
He was a “3 and D” guy in high school. If he can be consistent from 3 at this level, which I think he can develop, he will be a serious problem for opposing teams.

With grill gone there are a lot of new minuets for Watson and King. Both played great today.
Loved him guarding George, he held his own against a top 5 pick.
He played against a lot of really good talent while in high school, and he ALWAYS guarded the best player on the opposing team. Didn’t matter what position they played either.

Watson I feel can be a little like Naz Long in that as a freshman was just providing solid minutes, but by his junior and senior years was an all conference caliber type player.
I lean more towards Ejim
