The team is staying at a resort south of town, not a downtown hotel. This seems to fit with the tone that Connor describes in his article.

This is the first Cyclone pep rally in a long time that I've been excited about attending.

Didn't know the hotels were assigned, but I guess that makes sense. Personally, I think a resort is much nicer than a downtown business hotel, especially for a long day before a late night game.

P.S. It is still only a short drive to the Coliseum, so it isn't like they are going to get stuck on the interstate an hour away like the football team a few years ago.
