Big one coming up Saturday, and the Cyclones got plenty of rest tonight:

So, how many conference losses will the winner of the Big 12 women have? 3, 4, 5?

3 seems possible, but someone would have to go on a tear.
4 seems most likely.
5 seems possible, if we just keep beating each other.

I hope we put things right against the sooners. Crowd needs to show up and so does a decent group of officials if there is one.

Not so crazy stat from the game:
- TCU went from the 1:05 mark of the second quarter to the 6:14 mark of the third quarter without a point. That's a 4:51 scoring drought.

Crazy stat from the game:
- TCU went from the 1:05 mark of the second quarter to the 2:10 mark of the third quarter without a field goal. That's 8:55 with only one free throw scored.

Crazier stat from the game:
- TCU went from the 9:01 mark of the second quarter to the 5:57 mark of the 4th quarter without a 2 pt. basket. That's 23:04 - over half the game - without a 2 pointer.

The days of Kim Mulkey going 17-1 or 18-0 every year are gone. Posted awhile back that 13-5 might even get a piece of a tie. I agree that 14-4 is the likely number for at least a piece of the title. I am sort of expecting a tie for 1st.

I think ISU and Texas, same schools the coaches picked, are still the teams to beat. Sooners have two home loses and don't play a lick of defense. They gave up 93 points to the Cowgirls in Norman with OSU less two starters that sat almost the entire game with foul trouble.

Here's the league play stats. Pretty much at halfway mark without all of the NC cupcakes distorting things. Sooners are top scoring team and worst defensive team. Cyclones are, somewhat surprisingly, top in scoring defense. We are allowing 25 points less per game than Sooners are scoring. Sooners are giving up approximately 10 points more per game than we usually score.

Sooners 1st and 10th, almost a mirror image of their stats from last season when they finished 12-6 (league was slightly better overall last year). ISU and Texas top 4 in both scoring and top 2 in defense.

Yeah, probably seems like four. If you look at the conference not many teams have changed too much. Iowa State went 14-4 last year, all four losses to Texas & Baylor obviously.

Next three home games against those two and the only team outside of that pair that has beaten you in the past two seasons. Big, big games coming up.
