With this special day coming up, I'm wondering what you admire about your mom.

Me: She never said, "Just wait until you're a parent."

What I enjoy about my mom? A fridge full of beer and food when I go home. Mom and Dad usually pick up the tab at the bar too.

Great cook. Held down the fort when my dad was off on business, and still takes care of me even though I am the bad child in the family.

My mom has survived multiple cancers and raising 3 boys. She is tough!

Unfortunately, my mom is a bad cook, ticks of my wife constantly, and never acts like she cares to spend time with her only grandchildren (my sons). Before I got married, I thought my mom was pretty decent though.

1.She always found the good in people.
2. She lived/truly lived each day of her life, never took anything for granted.
3. I never heard her complain in 80 plus years of living.
4. She always, always made time for her children and grandchildren.

I could go on and on, I was very lucky. :notworthy:

Don't get me wrong. I love my mom. But I am just dissapointed at the current state of our relationship. My whole family has been shutting me out lately. My family is always the last to know about anything that goes on. I understand that we have been pretty busy the last couple years having two sons, but it just seems like they have given up. My parents show my enthusiasm to watch my sisters dogs (my sister's never having kids) than to call and ask about their grandkids. I am convinced that if my brother and his wife ever have kids, they will not act the same way towards them.
