This thread would absolutely had more posts if it was started today but it is going places now.
Encouraging people to work, have you seen the labor market? God damn American hero…He kept asking people if they wanted to make $20.
I thought the guy was a riot heckling people as they walked by.
It made for an interesting afternoon. As you might imagine, the guy is a talker.Wow....good to see him still kicking. Although I don't know how old he was but he was quick with the one-line zingers back in the day. I always felt bad for him as it seemed like he was just there by himself with no security, as others have said. I'm pretty sure he got in a few tussles back and possibly beat up pretty bad the last year he was at the fair. I sure enjoyed watching him interact with the crowd.
It was mighty kind of you to drive him around like that.
.but he assured me at least a half dozen times, "but I'm not racist". It was an interesting afternoon...
What do you think of Deace? It made for an interesting afternoon. As you might imagine, the guy is a talker.
A few quick hits:
* my wife thought I was a fool driving this guy around. I told her he came to my truck showing a $20 bill and he was old and wobbling around. Unless he was brandishing a gun, I had zero worries for my safety. I was blown away when I realized he was THE Bo-Bo the Clown.
* I always made it a point to go to the dunk tank and hear his spiel. It was often pretty brutal but it seemed most appreciated it was humor.
* he said towards the end of his run, he had to have armed escorts to get him to his car safely each night.
* he was nice as heck...talked about his wife he married who had two kids and he treated them as his own. Both very successful now.
* (disappointing revelation). I figured the "act" got canned as people got too politically correct so the fair stopped bring him back. I always took his jokes in good fun. Yes...he often focused on the person's race and defaulted to cheap stereotypes, but I saw that as a way to get people to buy more softballs to keep playing the game. Yes...very edgy, but nothing you wouldn't hear in a comedy club. Well...45 mins running him around town gives you insight into a person who talks insistently. Yeah...I'll just say he has some very "out there" ideas about things....but he assured me at least a half dozen times, "but I'm not racist". It was an interesting afternoon...
