Assuming Oklahoma wins... the conference would be the only one undefeated.

Given that the league had only one semi-marquee game in week 1, I think the "Big 12 is the only undefeated league" would probably be as premature a narrative as the "Big 12 teams struggling with FCS programs" narrative was from yesterday.

I keep hearing that all that matters is the W though... now I'm conflicted.

I suppose I should have included "and everyone played a game" Granted... TCU that year likely would have won as well.

Yes, what you've heard is true - winning is, in fact, better than losing.

I'm certainly not arguing that going 10-0 isn't a good thing. Just that it's probably a mistake to use that as a gauge of league strength given who those 10 opponents were.

One thing is for sure, if the SEC went 14-0 ESPN would shove it down everyone's throat all week.

Since they went 8-5, we won't hear a peep about it.

I saw a lot of media types talking about the SEC's bad day yesterday.

It was cupcake city. The real test will be the rest of the noncon.
Texas vs LSU
TTU at AZ
OK vs Houston and UCLA
TCU at Purdue
ISU vs IU
KSU at Miss St

Win more than half of those and we can talk.
