Couple things. One, iowa is playing well. Two, Illinois had one thing go wrong for them early in the game and just let it snowball. Hallmark of a terrible team.

They are. I've stumbled across a couple of their games during my all-day Saturday football viewing sessions and they're god awful. I'm not sure how much longer they hold onto Lovie Smith. He's just collecting a paycheck these days; he doesn't have what it takes to coach and recruit effectively in the college game.

At one time in the half, Iowa had 28 points but only 120 yards of total offense. (For comparison, BU had over 500 yards and only 14 points to show for it). Illinois is not a good defensive unit, and they started the game with multiple mistakes. To Iowa's credit, they took advantage (and they ARE the better team). Illinois is like ISU of the past : once adversity hits - you fold up like a tent. I think that explains the blow-out.

Stanley is pretty good against bad defenses. It's the decent defenses or better where his footwork gets sloppy.

That's why even though Nebraska will score on iowa, I think Iowa might get to 50 against them

Yeah, I haven’t seen any of the game so I don’t know they score or how well Iowa is playing, but Illinois is absolutely terrible. Probably one of the worst P5 teams in college football. This game was exactly the medicine Iowa needed before the the Nebraska game.

Most go to Iowa, Wisconsin, or Notre Dame. I lived in Illinois for a couple years and I don’t think I ever met a single person that followed the Illini.
