I agree with that. The Ron Miscaviage interview shed light on that the first 2 levels are merely self help type stuff that is normal, but once you get to level 3 then things get weird quickly.

I don't know why it would take that long- I read Dianetics as a 14 year old (without knowing what it was about) and thought it was WAY WAY out there about 100 pages in, and quit.
