If you look in to it the spider basically just gets covered in fungus to the point where it eventually dies. The ant thing is really ******* creepy because the fungus actually affects the ants behavior so the fungus has a better chance of spreading its spores after the ant dies.
In my link above the wasp larvae affect the spider's behavior and essentially enslaves the spider to do its bidding until not needed anymore - then the wasp kills and sometimes eats the no longer needed spider.
