30 years of sports talk radio.

30 years to the day Trent Condon signed off KXNO from when Marty and Miller signed on at The Jock. At one time there were 3 sports talk stations. Remember who all had shows- Marty, Miller, Murph, Andy, Cotlar, Condon, Chris, Ross, Travis, Heather, Perrault, Jimmy B, Andy Garmin, Deace, Miller, Sean, Lucas I'm sure I missed a few.

The hosts were a mixture of Hawk fans and Cyclone fans and quite a few neutral. I think ISU benefitted greatly in exposure to Des Moines casual sports fans as most shows gave equal time and guests to Hawks and Clones

Who were your favorite hosts and shows and which ones did you refuse to listen to?

Switching phone carriers

T-Mobile is forcing customers (not all but 8M I think) into a new plan even if you didn't ask for it, and increasing monthly plan cost. They have been pretty good overall but service is kind of hit and miss. Wondering what everyone things of the other big carriers like AT&T and Verizon. Specifically for anyone in MN but happily will listen to others in terms of customer service, issues, cost of plans, perks, etc.

Uptick in spam calls

Has anyone else noticed a huge uptick in spam calls the past few months or is it just me? I get about 5-8 spam calls a day. Some of them are marked as potential spam and others are not. I have had a lot of calls recently asking if I had received my food card. I have been expecting some certain calls for quotes on house items so I have been answering more, but it has been really bad the past week or two. I wonder if I can find a way to bring the number down.

Next CF Bracket Best Iowa Towns/Cities Nomination Thread

As we wind down the fast food bracket on behalf of group that put it together I want to thank everyone for their participation in this.

I only know the numbers for first couple tournaments done but pretty sure voting for this fast food tournament set a record for participation.

Over 7,100 votes without a play-in involved. It makes the work put into these feel worth it so thank you.

I want to try to squeeze one more in. Pizza was next one up but feel we need a break from food.

Best Iowa towns/cities was one vote behind pizza so I'd like to go there.

Not sure how many on last committee will hold over so if any feel this is something you could lend your expertise in I would love to see new committee blood.

For this one having people pm me their list of towns from 1-64 outside of the committee might be needed more than ever.

Now let nominations begin.
