Impact of Hawk fans on Cyclone Fanatic....

I think the reason there are so many Hawk fans here is because so many people create Hawk related threads. Also, if you'll notice, 75% of non-Iowa related threads somehow get turned into bickering back and forth about the rivalry.

Sometimes it's Iowa trolls that do it, but a good portion of the time it's ISU fans bringing Iowa into the equation. I have also been spending less time on the board... partially for that reason, partially for other reasons. But even I have gotten tired of the the same old conversations...

A: Hey, ISU picked up a recruit today!
B: Yeah, hopefully he doesn't get arrested like those thugs over at EIU
C: KF needs to get his guys under control
A: This guy has all the tools to be an all American!
D: Hey, all college kids drink, if you don't like it, you've never been to college!
B: Hey, Squawk doucher, get off our board!
A: EIU would be lucky to get this high profile of recruit!
F: Come on guys, be nice!
D: I'm just speaking the truth, ISU is not immune to this!
G: I'M SO SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THE HAWK FANS COMING HERE AND RUINING OUR FUN!!!!!

The arrests are all a product of the PED Mall anyway.

I've never used my ignore list, ever, but I'm strongly considering it, due to this recent influx of Hawk-ness. It's fun to spar once and awhile, but pretty soon it's like a broken record. It's obvious that the majority come over for the sole purpose of being complete *** hats, and to **** us off. Cyclonestate78 is right, if we all ignored them, they would go away. It's like that South Park episode where Cartman eats the skin off the KFC and they decide to ignore him, causing him to think he's dead.

I actually enjoy the outside perspective, and the GOOD Hawk posters. The trolls are appropriately modded.

My theory is it's the dog days of summer, we don't have much fresh news to talk about and we just have last season to look back on and EIU guys have a lot to crow about(in football at least) and we have a lot to cry about. When the season starts, I expect the traffic to drop..

You can put them on your ignore list. I really don't mind DJK, Southern Hawk, and a few others. The few hack/trolls who just come to spout garbage are the ones who bug me.

If you make a pay site, it would cut down on this stuff...:wink:

They are ruining the site as are those who start a pile of threads on Iowa. I am all for making fun of Iowa fans or their off the field issues, now and then. It is going to far now. This used to be a place Cyclone fans could go get away from all the Hawk chatter that fills the air in this state. It was a place where ISU fans could have some fun talking Cyclones.

Yup. The good ones add a nice perspective, and from a rival even.
The "let's go to the MAC" stuff was old the very first time it showed up.
