Hey I resemble that remark:smile:

I'm really not judging, here. But I have always thought booing was the ultimate example of sheeple at athletic competitions. Hell, I scream louder than anybody at bad calls and opposing players when they do something cheap or classless.

I know it is corny but something like “Go Army beat Navy, but Today is a Cyclone Dayâ€￾ would be far better. Think of a stadium giving a praise to the Army team but reminding them also this is still our house.

Kinda corny? Dude, that is beyond corny. I won't boo, but I sure won't welcome Army with open arms.

It is very common when the opposing team takes the field the fans BOOO them. Very OK with this since I usually have participated especially when it is Iowa or Nebraska.

But now we are about to have Army come in and I sure hope we don't boo are future Army Lieutenants (officers). Some of which will most likely end up on the battlefield with in a year.

.

I want ISU to beat Army also, but I don't see the need for booing when they take the field. So you are saying it is ok to disrespect others just because it is a game?

Dude, you're contradicting yourself.

I'm not into booing at all---but just because it's a service academy we shouldn't boo? That's silly. You're right, many of these men will end up on the battle field soon. Don't you maybe think they'll get a little more than "booed" there? If they can't take opposing college fans ribbing them.....then not so sure they should be training to be leaders of our military.

Screw them. They are the enemy. They'll get plenty of praise when they aren't on our football field, out defending the country.

They are the enemy to us on the field of play.

And I'll boo Army all day long because I hate Army and I hope they lose every game they play.

I'm sick and tired of everyone making everything into more than it is. It's a football game. I'm not making comments about your service to your country, your heritage, your mother's cooking or anything else. I want to see my football team kick your football team's *** on the field of play. That is all.

Couldn't you just cheer your team to whoop some *** without booing the othe team?

I have to say - I agree with this. I don't see how you can say it's okay to boo one college but not another.

I think I'll treat this game as an Osama bin Laden look a like contest to psych out Army. Maybe yell stuff like "You can't catch me and you can't catch our receivers"

I used to boo as a student, but I really haven't booed too much the last two years as a grad. I'll still tailgate the same and cheer with the same intensity, but I'll probably avoid the booing & the disrespectful smack talk.

I understand both sides of this argument. Once that game starts, it's fair game, but it's like that with every opponent and every has a choice for how they cheer/act during a game.

(If the people in my section heard me saying this, they'd probably call me the biggest hypocrite in the world, because last year I nearly had a couple meltdowns, broke beer bottles and spilled nacho cheese on a dude that sits in front of me.)

Ok I haven't been around for a while but the season is fast approaching and something keeps bothering me when I think about the Army game.

First, I am sorry if this had been discussed already but it will also need to be mentioned again the week of the game.

It is very common when the opposing team takes the field the fans BOOO them. Very OK with this since I usually have participated especially when it is Iowa or Nebraska.

I for one was in the military albeit the Army NG but I have the utmost respect for the Active Duty guys more. So I have a plea to start talking about not booing and passing it on to others not to boo that weekend. Maybe Jon Miller needs to bring this up too, to get the word out.

I would sure hope we could be more creative than booing our future Military leaders.

I know it is corny but something like “Go Army beat Navy, but Today is a Cyclone Dayâ€￾ would be far better. Think of a stadium giving a praise to the Army team but reminding them also this is still our house.

Now I know some of the Navy people on here would argue about saying Go Army beat Navy but to bad I was in the Army and it is my thread. Don’t like it think of something else.

I'll boo a future Army zero...er...offiicer if I want to. They're tough guys, they can handle it. Actually, I won't boo them. I do respect them, mostly because I don't know them. Now, if it were VMI we were playing I wouldn't stop booing. Try one of those guys for a platoon commander, they define *********.

I am not against booing Army on the field. I do thing those kids that play for them are amazing, especially in times we are at war. Once they are on the field they are another football team attempting to do the same thing we are, win and get to a bowl game. After the game I will stand up and give them a much deserved round of applause for their service to our country but not during the game.

Being A NCO myself, This may be my only time that I may boo an officer and get away with it. Appreciate the gesture, but please do not rain on my parade.

Myself also being an NCO, I say you should have booing competitions wihin your section. They are used to **** being thrown their way. They can brush it off with the best of them. No way is it considered disrespectful.

I've been junior enlisted, and NCO, and an officer. I don't plan to boo Army. That game really makes my insides twist around. I just don't like Army being the enemy.

Of course, as an XO, my guys cheered for me in a basketball game, and the cheering really didn't work out for me, either.

Look at you, throwing a wrench into the works. It is a bit of an odd situation. I still will fully pull for ISU, no doubt about that.

I only boo the refs when they screw up calls, which upset me. Otherwise, I try not to acknowledge the opponent's existence - why give them the satisfaction?
