You're stupid.

NDSU hasnt been beat by more than 21 in 4 years.(1 game where our QB went down and things snowballed in 2005

then 1 time back in 2002.

NDSU WILL NEVER EVER GET BLOWN OUT. OUR DEFENSE IS TOO GOOD, and our BALL CONTROL offense wont make stupid mistakes.

Man you're gonna feel pretty stupid whether we kill you or win by one.

If your team is so good how did they lose 5 games last year with that schedule?

Last year we beat SDSU 44-17. I don't think this one will be that different.

No. No. No. No. You can't use this logic to justify why ISU should easily beat NDSU this year:jimlad:.

Unless you are certain Bison fans who claim NDSU will beat Iowa State because they beat Minnesota.

Yeah, the 21 point spread might be a little too much. NDSU is tough enough to keep it under a 21 point spread. Never underestimate your opponent.

21 points is a pretty fair bet. Like a few others have said though, garbage time points can wreck the whole thing.

And several of those in our redzone - remember that QB just throwing the ball to our DL? Unforced TOs killed them last year.

If we are going to give all of the credit to the O for turnovers and none to the D, then it's worth pointing out that ISU also had 3 turnovers. A fumble at the goal line that resulted in a TB. A bates fumble, and a fumble on a punt return. In reality, with where the TO's happened for each team, essentially the first 3 for SDSU and the 3 for ISU cancelled each other out because of where they happened on the field.

For example, McDowell fumbled on a punt return, two plays later SDSU throws a pick.

And another example, A Rob fumbles for a TB 5 or 6 plays after ISU recovered an SDSU fumble on their 20 or so yard line.

The game was never really in question, and ISU did benefit from multiple TO's but it was still a 27 point game.

ndsu has players suspended for the game, iowa state has much to prove. i bet the final score to be 54-21. our defense still won't be good enough to shut them down, but our offense should be the same as last year if not better and can put up points.

That's just it. ISU really doesn't have anything to prove by beating this team. People expect them to win this game. It's the following week where they'll have something to prove.

I don't think ISU will have their starters in long enough to get to 50+ points. I think you're pretty close on NDSU's final score though. I'd say 38-21 with NDSU scoring a late TD.

The 21 points may be a bit much to overcome.

I expect the offense to stay intact for most all the game unless its a huge margin in ISU's favor late...Then perhaps AA and Arob get pulled for safety's sake and to get Tiller some reps. I think its important to get the offense as sharp as possible early on.

The defense however could be another story in the event that ISU has a large lead in the 2nd half.....the reserves(on defense) would be more likely to be brought in early to get them some experience. This could cut significantly into any large lead ISU could have.

2008
sdsu 27 pt win
kent st 20 pt win
unlv loss
iowa loss

three 21pt+ wins in the past 6 years. 3 21+ point wins in 22 at bats. not good odds. i think you lose. seems every year everybody gets amped and starts predicting 48 point victories over our opponents, then we have a 6 point win over a 1aa opponent, or worse yet a loss to one.

lets face it, we were awful last year and it will take some time for the new schemes to sink in and run fluidly. i expect a win but not by much

I don't understand why people say it's a new system. The system is going to be nearly the same thing it was last season (spread) but faster paced (no huddle). We put up a million yards in our last couple games last season, I don't expect much different to begin this season. Our chances to score more points will probably be there simply because we won't hold the ball as long (no huddle). This doesn't even account for the fact that while SDSU was a 27 point win, the starters weren't on the field for the entire 4th quarter. SDSU had 3 points on the first team D. NDSU put up 24 points on a team we hung 44 on handily, and gave up 25 to a team that our starters held to 3.
