I know this board is full of young whipper-snappers (yeah, I said whipper-snappers) but this Jersey boy is getting excited for the Boss and the Legendary E-Street Band (minus Danny - RIP) to come to the Well on 9/21! I've got good seats on the right side of the stage (Sec. 102) and hope this show gets sold out for a rocking great time. Bruce - who will be turning 60 next month (unbelievable), still puts on a 2 1/2 hour + show, and the reports I've been seeing on Backstreets.com are very encouraging.

Hope there are some of you folks are going - if you haven't been to a Bruce show, this is definitely one you should have on your concert resume.

I would love to see the Boss. However I'm not willing to spend more than I do to go to every ISU home basketball game.

Not in the Jack or in Hilton - ISU fans are doing us a disservice by seeing any concert in DM.

Newsflash! No concerts in Jack Trice since we went to grass field.

Second - there is ZERO connection between concerts in DSM and supporting ISU athletics. Give me a break!

I saw the Boss at Hilton back in the day, ...never forget it! Folks, if you haven't seen his show, you must go! Or at least some point in your life, that way after he retires into the "Rock 'n Roll H.O.F." you can say that you were there... you saw him! ...you contributed to his retirement! Long Live the Boss!

Have seen the man 15 times over the course of my life (39). Last time I saw the E Streeters was at the Harley Fest in Milwaukee about a year ago. Let me tell you...it was the best concert I have ever attended...the E Streeters always deliver! Here was the setlist that night (I listen to the boot of the show a lot):

Gypsy Biker
Out in the Street
Radio Nowhere
The Promised Land
Spirit in the Night
Wooly Bully
Darlington County
You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)
Darkness on the Edge of Town
Youngstown
Murder Incorporated
She's the One
Livin' in the Future
Mary's Place
Working on the Highway
Racing in the Street
The Rising
Last to Die
Long Walk Home
Badlands
Seven Nights to Rock

ENCORE:
4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)
Tenth Avenue Freeze-out
Glory Days
Born to Run
Rosalita
Bobby Jean
American Land
Thunder Road
Dancing in the Dark
Born to Be Wild

I have seen Bruce 5 times -

1984 - In Phoenix BITUSA tour
1999 - In Philadelphia two nights in a row
2000 - At State College, PA in the Bryce Jordan Center (Penn State)
2006 - At the Well - Seeger Session Tour

MY BIGGEST REGRET - In 1980 as a sophmore at ISU, I camped out in the middle of winter outside Hilton and purchased my first Bruce Springsteen ticket (The River Tour) . When the show date arrived, I had a huge test the next day in a class that I was not doing too well in and I sold the ticket hours before the show in order to study. Dumb - Dumb - Dumb.

I was at this show as well. And though it was not the E Streeters and not necessarily the "rock-n-roll" genre...it was an awesome display of music and a man on a mission to entertain! That was a fun band to listen to and watch play...and I would go see that group of musicians again without a doubt!

"Kind of like coming to New Jersey while there's a Mafia convention going on," he says, "or the Polluter's Ball!" Mark Pender got a chance to shine tonight (as if he didn't every night), being from nearby Kansas City, with his mother in the crowd. Bruce made sure to point her out, and he threw "The Loveman" the solo in "When the Saints Go Marching In," a nice moment. No Patti again, and a similar set to the last show Concord, substituting "City of Ruins" for "Bring Them Home," and dropping "Froggie." What, no Des Moines kids got the memo about bringing a stuffed animal? Well, a plush pig wouldn't have quite the same effect anyway.
Setlist: John Henry/O Mary Don't You Weep/Johnny 99/Old Dan Tucker/Eyes on the Prize/Jesse James/Atlantic City/Erie Canal/My Oklahoma Home/Devils & Dust/Mrs. McGrath/How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live?/Jacob's Ladder/We Shall Overcome/Open All Night/Pay Me My Money Down

That was fun - I took my whole Family of 5. But my favorite shows were in Philly at the First Union Center - or what every they are calling it now, I think they changed the name three times since then! Something about Bruce and the Philly crowds that just mesh well together. Must be why they hang a banner in there dedicated to Bruce - Like they do for retired '76er and Flyer player numbers!

Anybody ever hear a reason why it started 55 minutes late?
