that should help the recruiting questions. a 2-10 team that has 1-4, 4-3's and 2-2's is pretty decent for early september. JUCO or not, progress is going to be hard.

I don't pay attention to recruiting...

So, you're suggesting that our coaching staff offered "another" WR that we "didn't need" (referring to someone's comments when Young first committed) because he is good? So...our coaches know what they are doing?!!

Whoa! What a novel concept!!!!:biglaugh:

Am I the only person who is astounded that now we could have three former four star recruits at wide receiver next season?!!

That, of course, pending any further commitments!

If this guy moves like Money and (your typical Florida state wide receiver), it was a no brainer.

This should put all the naysayers to rest for the time being. Those of you that were "worried" about the recruting thus far should now be relieved and feel pretty dang good about what they've gotten for committments so far.

Thanks for the update....

I'm excited. Of course - to be Debbie Downer - since he's not yet signed (meaning he could change his mind), I'll be interested to see if he stays at 4 once he signs on the dotted line, or falls to the usual treatment of ISU recruits and is downgraded to a 3 or something.

But yes - says something that the staff is getting kids of national notoriety on the heels of some pretty bad football over the past couple seasons.

And we can never have too many good players, even if they are seemingly stacked up at one spot.

Overall, it looks like we have a lot of stars so far. That is even with a kicker on the list. (is there such thing as a 4/5 star kicker?) If this keeps up, I am liking our chances. I think we need to do what Kansas does. They load their recruiting classes up with a bunch of 3 star guys and they seem to be very deep every year.

I'm so excited that coach recruits guys based on their star rankings by the experts at rivals!

Next on the list, Marcus Lucas and Dexter Ransom. Can you imagine Austen having these kind of targets to throw to? (I need a  smiley)

Oh yeah, Chase Harper is also now a four star.

As with any star, I'll withhold judgement until I see what they do on the field. ISU has had multiple 4* JUCOs that have not panned out over the years. If I recall, 2002 had three or four with Menard being the only one that contributed.

In any event, it's great to see prospects interested in the new staff!

One thing that most people have learned is that these "Can you imagine..." posts rarely amount to squat.

1. Can you imagine how good we're gonna be when Lucca is eligible next year?
2. Can you imagine how good our running game is gonna be with Bo?
3. Can you imagine how much Eick is going to open up the inside with him raining in 3's all day?
4. Can you imagine JJ Bass running it for 2 years?
5. Can you imagine Sed in this system?
6. Can you imagine how good our defense is gonna be under Chizek?

Dexter Ransom - Yahoo! Sports

Although we'd all love to get these guys...the odds are definitely against us. Marcus Lucas' highlight tape is a thing of beauty. He has playmaker written all over him. Right now, according to rivals, it's a 2 dog race between OU and Missery.

None of these skill position commits are going to matter very much unless we can get some solid defensive commitments that come in and contribute right way.

"Can you imagine how good our offense is going to be under Tom Herman"?

Apparently you don't grasp this, but the point of imagining is to fill the gap between now and eventuality. Whatever that eventuality proves to be.

"Can you imagine if Craig Brackins comes back...?"

This is great news. I thought rivals would instantly discredit him for committing to I State. Apparently not the case.
