Exactly. 4 or 5 good seasons out of 30 does not a good program make. We are a losing football program, that's just the truth. I hope that we can turn it around with PR, but fans have every right to be down, this isn't exactly our first visit to this neck of the woods. By now most of us are used to it and it's just life as a Cyclone fan. You show up, tailgate hard, root for your team, and at the end of the day more often than not you're disappointed. With the exception of a few of the Mac years, we've pretty much been a program in ruins for the better part of the past 30 years.
I would hope that players dont get on these boards. Great to know that the Cyclone community still stands behind their team after a dismal game.
Jamie Pollard rush chairman dam glad to me you!

Where have I heard that before?
all of a sudden our program is in ruins. What is wrong with some of you people. Need I remind you that a certain team lost to a certain team in 2002 and still ended with one loss. This team is in no way done for the season.
I am not sure your example is reflective of the situation in 09. In 02 the Clones beat a very good Hawk team. Remember the joke. "How can the Hawks expect to be #1 in the nation when they came in 2nd in the state?" I don't recall the score, but I doubt we throttled the Hawks in 02. The problem is Cyclone fans have invested their hearts and money in the promise of the Clones going to the "next" level and it is frustrating to watch the program sink to lower levels than we have seen in recent years. Coach KF is on his way to becoming a Fry-like coach icon in Iowa, while we showed the door to our potential coach icon. This process is going to take time. ISU students will graduate without ever having gone to a bowl game. Jamie P. took a huge risk, hoping for a greater reward. The problem is J.P. did not prepare the fan base for the potential of disaster and program set back. Now the question whether the $$ will keep coming in long enough to allow J.P. the necessary time to get our sports programs back track. My point is that this might be a good time to hope to exceed lower expectations as opposed to failing to meet higher expectations. The program is not "in ruins", but the fans certainly have earned the right to be frustrated...
One dismal game. We are going on 4 years of dismal games. It is getting old. As for the players I feel for them, I know they are doing what they can and giving it their all, and it has to suck not to get the results they want.
What's more embarrassing, at least for ISU, is that students will graduate without having been to the Big Dance.
