Washington is #24 in the polls!?!

Ok I understand that Washington beat a USC team by a last second field goal and Jake Locker is a rather talented QB but I'm absolutely STUNNED that this team is even relatively close to the polls let alone being ranked 24th. I just believe that a team who a week before the USC victory just snapped a 15 GAME LOSING STREAK shouldn't be ranked by winning a game by a last second field goal! The team didn't win ONE game last year!!! They beat out teams like Nebraska, Iowa, and Georgia Tech just to name a few. I just really think this isn't right at all IMO. Curious to see what everyone else thinks.

I felt the same way I just think it shows more to folks respect foe USC than the talent or worth of UW

Is that equivalent of us beating Texas and getting in? I would assume Washington is a bit better than us.

It's the way the analysts cover their *****, if #3 goes to an unranked team, then clearly the opponent was underrated.

I really don't have much of a problem with it. They played LSU tough, whipped Idaho, and beat a top 5 USC. Everybody wants to talk about how there shouldn't be polls until a few weeks in to see how teams are doing then. Looking at their body of work THIS season, you can certainly make an argument that they belong in the top 25.

From what I saw against LSU and beating USC...ranking is fine with me.

As much as it kills me, the hawks should probably be in teh top 25. Washington deserves to be there - until the prove otherwise.

I'm okay with this. If LSU is truly a top 10 team, like their ranking indicates, then UW earned their ranking. How great of a story would it be if UW went from 0-12 to a bowl game? Sarkisian and Co. already get an A+ for this season.

Hec, Auburn is above LSU in the SEC West standings, so they should be in the top 25 way before Washington gets in there...

(EDIT: better add :jimlad: lest some of you freak...)

You know though, Auburn is 3-0 with a win over a conference foe and a decent WVU squad. Top 25 isn't very far off.

Based on votes, Auburn is Top 30 in both polls. If they get a convincing win next week, they probably break the Top 25...which will ramp up the angst among the Chiz-haters here who can't let go...

Well, the Chiz-haters will do what they do. Bottom line is Auburn is more talented than we are and Chiz actually made some hires with the coordinators.

Washington and UCLA will turn the corner and be close to the top 25 for a few years to come. Energetic, young coaching, and good enough athletes will come there to make them resurrect those programs.

Since when does last year's record count towards how good this team is? This is why there should not be a poll until week 4 at the earliest.
