Realistically I don't think we are going to catch them... we are playing great baseball, but I just think that loss yesterday hurt us. I would like to think differently but just don't want to get my hopes up then watch them fall.
Your thoughts?

They have a 10 game road trip now, before the last 3 at home against the Royals.

They will have to play really good on the road trip, probably 7-3 or so, to have a chance going into the last weekend.

They have a chance, but have verrrrrry little room for error. The Yankees are rooting for them to beat the Tigers.

Span striking out 4 times really hurt on Sunday. The rotation has really picked it up recently, but I really doubt the Twins take the division.

The problem is we have 6 games against the best team in the Central right now, KC. I think we'll still have a shot when that 4 game series against the Tiggers comes up next week, but I think the Royals are going to take us out of the race

It's going to be tough. The Twins are not a very good road team, and the White Sox would like nothing better than to knock them out of the race. There is still hope, but I just don't see it happening this year. Not sure it matters. I don't see anyone from the Central capable of beating the Yankees, so.......

The Tigers are more than capable. That's why I wanna see the Twins there. Verlander and Jackson both OWN the Yankees (both sub-1.3 ERAs vs. the Yankees).

All of you negative nacy's can suck it.. We are playin GREAT baseball right now. Everything is clicking and I don't see us losing until we meet up with Grienke on Sunday.... Our pitchers are actually hitting their spots and we are jumping all over the opposing teams mistakes. LOVE IT!

About the only Twin that hits Greinke well is Kubel (364). Crede does too, but obviously he will not be a factor. Cuddyer is not bad......286. If the rotations follow to form, Greinke will be facing them the last game of the season too, I believe.

It will be fun to watch. Hopefully, Span will be back on Friday, and maybe the White Sox won't lay down for the Tigers like Cleveland did. Would love to see the Twins within a game, or even ahead by the time they get to Detroit next week. They are 2 and 3 against the Tigers this year in Detroit, so anything can happen.

I hope they can keep playing well.

It was good for Minnesota these last 3 games that Chicago has packed it in, but on the flip side it is bad for them since Detroit still plays Chicago 6 times.

Now that the Twins are done with them here's hoping some of the White Sox young guys get hot for the next 10 days or so.

And what the heck has gotten into Cuddy? Dude drives me crazy the whole year and now he and Punto (don't get me started on him) have put the team on their backs for the stretch run....weird.

If the Twins win every game from here on out they win the division. It's nice being able to control your own destiny...

5-1 Twins over KC top of 5, 2-0 Sox over Tigers bottom of 6. Hopefully these scores hold up - we'd be only 2 back at the end of the nite...

This is really shaping up to be an exciting last few games for the twins. Its a damn shame that Morneau had to go down.

We're comin! I'm not too sad about Morneau being out, he was dragging the team down, and did last year as well. Hopefully he'll get healthy and work things out next year

I'm trying hard to not get too hyped because every time I do, the Twins take a step backwards. When I'm about ready to give up on them, they climb right back in the race.

That said, my pattern to win the division is as follows:

1. Twins take 2 of 3 from the Royals and the Sox do the same.

2. Twins take 3 of 4 from the Tigers.

3. Repeat step 1.

It might not be likely, but it's possible with the way the pitching match ups are playing out. My concern is that the Royals right now appear to be a tougher match up than either the Sox or the Tigers.

Where does the Twins play the Tigers at. If at minnesota then the twins have a better chance than if its at detroit. I still think that if the twina are to make the playoffs they will have to win the one game playoff to do it
