Would anyone in the athletic department know anything about this? Who would we contact about it and how?

The odds of a local station picking it up are probably greater than it being on Mediacom 22. That said, the odds of the former happening aren't exactly a sure thing.

Don't expect to get a well-informed response from Mediacom.

I'll send a letter to mediacom right now and see what they say.

Frankly, I don't think Mediacom is going to be helpful here. Like I said in an earlier post, I seriously doubt NFL Network is going to even consider letting Mediacom carry just this one game.

I think your best bet is to contact the local stations and ask them if they're going to simulcast the game. Tell them the Fox affiliate in KC did it last year when Kansas played.

They "always" respond back to me within 24 hrs. With very clear and precise information reguarding, programing... billing ...telephone or networking issues. We'll see what they say. It may very well just be some other network that "hopefully" picks up the game.

ok... I'll contact the rest, and report their replys. (deal?))

Not likely to allow Mediacom to cherry pick when they now have large numbers subscribers.

I agree. That's why I think a local station is more likely to pick it up--if anybody picks it up at all, which I admit seems to be increasingly unlikely.

No word from Mediacom yet as I just wrote them earlier this evening, but I do understand Paul Burmeister with the NFL Network says he thinks the kind of deal we all have been talking about tonight (local simalcasting) could happen, but he’s not sure either. So let's just keep our fingers crossed.

Sounds like Mediacom and NFL Network don't get along, hence why NFL Network isn't on Mediacom....weaksauce

I e-mailed right away on Sunday and haven't gotten a response yet.

Looking at posts from last year this should be the week we know if simulcast is going to happen...I really hope one of the locals pick it up!

it probably won't be simulcast on fox, since mediacom is in a battle with them and will lose their fox signal jan 1 if something isn't reached. what the crap? how do you lose one of the big 5 stations? mediacom sucks. i gave up on mediacom several years ago and went with directv. probably the best decision of my life, except now directv has issues with comcast, and if i lose my cubs games next summer, i just don't know what i'll do.

Are, there any updates if a local station is going to carry the Insight Bowl game or not? If not I will have to find a sports bar to watch the game, I prefer to watch it at home.

Signed up for Directtv yesterday, Dec 26 install, 1 HD DVR, 1 reg DVR, 1 std receiver, all for $50/month for a year. Mediacomm is $68 for basic cable, no dvr, no hd, no nfl network, soon to be no fox.

mediacom may very well be the vicitms of unfairsinclair, but give it up already - I could care less that these two companies can't get along and I really don't want to hear about it.

stop the complaining about the tv coverage and make it simple. Buy a ticket and start driving on Tuesday the 29. That is what 2 of us are doing. Make a memory, and have FUN in the SUN. Or stay in the cold and cry about the TV coverage.

I have Mediacom, and am hooked up to 7 tv sets, so I don't think I can afford to switch to Direct TV.

I really wish I could afford to go to the game, but I am out of vacation time, and I do not have the funds. I went in 2000, and it was an awesome time!

My dad said that KWWL was going to televise the game in Eastern Iowa, which makes sense with the whole Paul Burmeister connection. I just haven't been able to confirm it online. Has anyone else heard about this possibly happening?

Believe me, it seems like everyone I know is going down for this game and I wish I was able to make it that simple. Less than a year into your first job out of college is a sucky position to be in.
