He's actually right - several players are registered. It doesn't matter if anyone "buys" it - they're here. College kids know how to use the internet.

Good that wasnt my point...... My point was if you get offended on an annonymous message board then how can you handle playing at Ku for instance

Sitting at your computer vs. being on a court are MUCH different psyches...

They're just kids who are giving their time for the love of the game (and your entertainment), and the hopes to make something better of themselves. I guess I figure that deserves respect in and of itself.

I think it is pretty clear Staiger should not be a starter on this team. According to McD he does not have an inside presence as part of his game on the offense. This was evident when he had about a 7 inch height advantage against N'western and would not post up or even go into the lane, to me that is a liability.

Staiger can be a 3 point specialist, that is about it.

It really doesn't matter who starts. The keys are minutes and who finishes. The same applies to Hamilton. I would guess that as the season continues, Dendy and JVB will get more minutes (assuming healthy), but Hamilton will keep starting.

You can handle it because you expect KU fans to root against you, you expect your own fans to support you.

I just don't feel that staiger fits in well with the rest of the teams chemistry. Maybe his game is more suited for the overseas game. That is all

Have you ever watched basketball before today? Seriously?

His presence opens up the middle of the floor tremendously for CB and MG to operate and it allows DG to drive much more easily because his man can't help. If we didn't have Lucca teams would play zone on us all day to shut down Brackins and Gilstrap inside. He isn't great on D but he works hard and isn't a liability at all.

To the OP, the reason people got upset with your post is that you called out one of our players. I don't think we should be saying "so and so sucks!". Lets at least try to post with some logically analysis.

IMO, Lucca is doing what he is being asked to do. He is being asked to spot up and take the open look when it is there. That's his game. That is what he brings to this team.

Not thinking someone is all that great doesnt mean I dont support someone. I think he does the best he can, and sometimes that isnt good enough. I dont wish him any ill will

Posting random threads on the internet saying that a player "sucks" - without any substantive, constructive criticism, mind you - is actually the definition of not supporting someone. That's what the OP did.

Constructive criticism is OK. That's being supportive. It helps everyone grow. It's sentiments like the original post in the other (now closed) thread that have no business being posted.

To the original poster, they repeatedly said during the game on TV that Bradley was one of the best teams in the nation at guarding the 3. Therefore Lucca did not get many good looks with the ball and did not take many shots. And to answer the question why keep him in there, as stated before, just having him in the game spreads out the defense.

Ya I didnt do that, and I never do, I agree with you just saying someone sucks is a waste of time.

everything is not roses and butterflys.....i am sorry you want everything to be so positive. Lucca should start, we should be number 1, and isu basketball will never loose. Sorry not the way it is!!!

People don't think things are all roses and butterflies. I think people can have an rational conversation about this and not come out and say... So and so sucks.

That is why your thread was closed. I'm sure when you become a big boy. Have some kind of rational thought. People will take you serious and have a conversation with you.

Lucca serves a purpose on offense. Not sure about on defense. He draws his defender out to the perimeter creating less people in the lane for Brackins or Hamilton to work. If his guy doubles down. He hits the 3.

I believe that is his purpose.

Should Scotty start?? Maybe. He has almost as good of a shot. Plays defense well. I'm guessing they are giving the nod to Lucca cause of his height, maybe the hope he will rebound, and experience. Lucca went 0-4 today. Nothing ill advised in my opinion. He touched the ball everytime down when he was in.

My other thought.... Why not have Scotty come off the bench?? It's nice to have someone on the bench who could score. We need that spark.

Perfect world.. My starters are.

DG
SC
LD
MG
CB

Then again.. I'm not getting paid to coach.

Good grief not this again. Then I guess Big Ham should have drove the lane today.

I know, I absolutely can't even tell if these posts about him posting up are a joke or not. Apparently they are serious and its pretty sad some of these people know so little about the game. I just read the new book "Larry and Magic - When they ruled the court." In one chapter it talks about how Magic had to work on his post moves an entire summer with Jud Heathcoate to prepare to take over the scoring load in 1987 when Kareem was at the end of his career. Apparently Magic wasn't very good either and Riley was a terrible coach too!

I think you can argue he's the best guard at feeding the post.

I still like Dendy and Scott off the bench. Both are at least decent scoring threats. Lucca and Craig/Marquis work well together. I wish we always had Lucca and Brackins on the same side of the floor. Double goes on Brackins, Gilstrap is open on the back if his guy doubles, Lucca is open if his guy doubles. If they let it go, Brackins 1 on 1. I love any of those situations.

Guys... I think we can all relax now. Looks like the OP is now offline.

We are now safe... I'm sure there won't be anymore Drive by Trolling.
