I didnt think they looked that good vs Colorado. I hope they do good that way a better deal will come along for their coach and then they can return to where they belong.

So let's pretend that KSU's team is ISU.

What do you think fanatics would think about this team: wins 23 games the previous season and returns 4 starters, adds a 5-star PF UCONN transfer, adds a McD's AA PF, adds a top100 SG. Then they proceed to start the season 15-2, with the only losses being a good team on a neutral court, and on the road in conference.

We would be saying we're overrated???? Riiiiight...........

I'm convinced that only 0.006% of bball posters actually watch college basketball when ISU isn't playing.

I have to agree - I have seen some of the dumbest (wishful thinking?) posts regarding KState the last few days/weeks

They were talking about KSU style of play today on 810 radio in KC today. KSU plays an ugly style of basketball they foul a lot an push the refs to make calls hoping that they let KSU away with holds and fouls. Against CU there was 60 fouls called in that game. It is not a fun style of game to watch and it cheapens the game. It exstends the game to well over 2 1/2 hours and try to out last the other team since they do have a deep bench. There is a big difference between good defensive teams and teams that try to push the limits of fouling.

Im sorry, but i think that on a neutral court Gonzaga, Pitt, West Va, BYU, Georgetown, and Purdue would all defeat K State. I realize thats just an opinion and i may be wrong. I also think Clemson, Georgia Tech, UCONN and UNC could all win as well. All teams are behind K state in the rankings. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. And this opinion would make it seem as though they are overrated. Which is why in the first post the very first thing i said was IMO. I am in no way saying K state is not good. They are easily a top 20 team. but top 10???

The same Purdue that has lost 3 games in a row? Are you watching this game?

Wow. KSU is beating Texas by 8 while shooting 1-13 from 3-point land. Amazing. They are outrebounding Texas by 14 right now. Clemente and Pullen are a combined 4-24 from the field, and they are about to beat the #1 team. That is just scary. (this is with ~2 minutes left).

Also, bad bad bad free throw shooting seems epidemic in the Big 12 this year. Texas is 9-20 from the FT line in this game (KSU is 12-20, not good either).

We haven't beaten K-State since January 7, 2006. That's right, 4 whole freakin' years.

Look for that trend to continue for at least another year.

Ok throw Purdue out. Thats still 8 teams that i think could win. Also, i do believe BUT I MAY BE WRONG, that this was the best performance by K-State all year, especially considering who they played. I started this thread before the Texas game and i hadnt seen anything SPECTACULAR from them but this game proves it. I stand corrected.

I just want to say that I hate KSU basketball maybe more than any team in the nation. The entire program was built and is staying afloat from dirty recruiting. Plain and simple. Matter of fact, KSU is just a terrible school. Man, I hate KSU.

My observations from the KSU/Texas game.

I was amazed at the fans. Students were in line to get the best seats early in the morning! I have no idea how the student seating works any more at ISU, but if it is first-come, first seated, open seating like that, were ISU students lined up like that when Texas was there last week? Also, during the game, their coordinated chants were pretty impressive. All the fake beards was funny too.....showed they were involved, interested, whatever with the players. It also seemed that the students were really into the game, and aware of what was happening.

I was impressed with K-State. They are very physical, and very quick, and absolutely attack the basket. I was most impressed with their defense, and their ability to switch from man to man to a zone so quickly. That helped to keep Texas out of their game. What a concept! Switching defenses!

Texas made their run in the second half, but K-State was able to counter......I thought that was impressive.

Something else really impressed me with their coaching. Even at the end of the game, when it was clear that his team would win, Martin was all over his players when they screwed up. Man.......the look on his face sometimes when he was talking to them....he did not appear to be someone you would want to have mad at you. It was nice to see that passion.

I have no clue about K-State's recruiting practices. They had one 4-star, and one 5-star recruit for this year, and has 3 3-star recruits for next year. Does that really scream cheating? Seems like sometimes people think that if a school is winning, then they must be cheating I guess. I have heard under Huggins they were questionable at best, but from everything I have heard or read, Martin has a pretty good reputation among fellow coaches. Whatever he is doing, it is obvious the man can flat-out recruit. He has lost 4 players to the NBA in his first year, yet it seems he has just reloaded.

Pretty impressive what he has been able to do there in such a short time.

Why do you think this? Because of their high paid assistant with D.C. connections? He is just the same as T.J with his connections in Milwaukee and D.Rob with his in Chicago only KSU is getting better players and keeping them. Maybe they are cheating, but I have not seen one single shred of evidence saying they are. Do you have some?

Someone is bitter, and maybe jealous. How is our recruiting dirty? We aren't doing anything illegal, I can guarantee you that.

Unless you are Frank Martin, and you're not, there's no way you can guarantee that. Just as no one here has any clue if there is anything dirty going on, you don't have any idea if there's not.

Wear a red shirt that says Cyclone Alley on it and you get a good seat. Don't wear the shirt and your screwed. Great concept. K-State should use it. Besides going nuts last night and noticing how great the student section was at K-State last night. I like our way. K-State needed 3 or 4 people to stand down at the bottom of the student section and get on different students for doing stuff the wrong way.
