Anyone ever had UPS claim that a package was delivered and come home and not find it?

We had this happen today and all UPS is saying is that they have the delivery confirmation to the back door. The package is no where to be found.

Aside from calling UPS and giving them an earful, is there anything else we can do?

Do you have a PO box?

I had something similar happen over Christmas. The package was said to have been delivered on Christmas Eve. Looked everywhere for it. Went in to get my mail the day after Christmas and there it was. UPS delivered it to the Post office instead of to my house. This usually happens if UPS can't get to your house, not sure why it happened with me though.

No, we don't have a PO Box.

We called UPS and they said "we have a confirmation on delivery fron the drive. we are sorry you did not receive your package."

First you might want to check with neighbors to see if they accepted a package for you, or it hit the wrong house.

Next call the company/person that shipped the item and say it never arrived and UPS isn't helping.

Another option is getting moved up the supervisor food chain at UPS to get a better result.

We've had a problem around here with UPS drivers just leaving a package by an outside door, even if it is an apartment complex. Horrible.

Was that was me, yesterday with the fridge that didn't show?

BTW- they found it and they got it to me. Also that wasn't UPS, but yes, it seems to be going around.

Just to share, I had a package left for me this morning, unattended, and covered on the top with a sort of pink goo, like a drink had spilled. Probably another package leaked on it. I was not happy.

It wasn't UPS though - another delivery company.

I ordered some ink yesterday from staples for my fax machine. The UPS driver came into the office with the box behind his back. And said you might want to open this while I'm here. The box was all mangled, two small ink cart's should not of been sent like that. The ups guy blamed staples, though I am sure they had something to do with it.

Staples and ups are two companies I will never voluntarily do business with again. Its a long story but between the two they trashed $500 speakers and wouldn't pay out on the insurance.

Well, goes with the teritory. ..ups, USPS, FedEX...all about the same as far as, they all have the same issues. Protect your product by shipping LTL, isn't reasonable, and yet they trash shipment. Best way to recieve a shipment is pay for it at the check out line and walk out and carry it to your car, otherwise, lots of variables you don't control.

I have to say that for most shipping, UPS is my favorite. Most of the time you can get a conformation number and track it and they are usually the cheapest, also I rarely have problems with damaged property. FedEx seems to be a bit faster. I only use USPS for letters and books.

I also think UPS is the best, but they all have their problems. Not happy with FedEx right now.

I have shipped product all over the country for years using all methods including truckload and counter to counter via air. However, UPS is my favorite even though I have some horror stories with them, however, out east clients prefer FedEx. None of it is perfect that is for sure.

I suppose we are used to UPS due to the Hub here in DM and the service we recieve.

If I had to guess, I would think some kid from Ankeny drove over to your neighborhood, took the package, then got on CF, saw what had happened and returned it while you were eating dinner.
