Didnt we keep close today when tons claimed a blowout? This teams inconsistencies are frustrating, but they also make for different outcomes than folks expect. Im not ready to write them off as losses.

Fair enough. I think differently.

Honestly....I don't have any complaints this game. The team put it all out on the floor and that is all I can ask.

I agree. We did have a few minutes that were bad and that caused us the game, however when we fell down by 11 in the second half, they could have folded up and quit like they did at Baylor. They didn't. They kept playing hard. I am now convinced CC should be starting. I don't care where. he is the only guy in the open floor who can create anything. Yes, he turns it over sometimes but he also makes more plays than anyone else on the floor. Scotty needs to hit shots. That is what we need him most for. When he and DG are on the floor he needs to be the outside threat. If he is not, like he wasn't today, then we have no guard that is a legitimate threat outside. CC can give us some of that too. I thought the effort was there, it just seems like for 6-8 minutes every game our guards go braindead when they get to half court and turn the ball over a couple times and all of a sudden it's an 8 point swing.

What in the world does GMac tell these guys at halftime and during timeouts?

We have a 4 pt lead at the half, and after the first 5 mins of the 2nd half KSU has a 10 pt lead. Unreal.

Then, with about 4 mins left in the game, we cut it to 4 pts, and KSU calls timeout. Hilton is rocking. We come out of the timeout, and KSU takes it from a 4 pt lead up to 12. Game over.

Whatever GMac is doing at the half and during TO's, he has to do a 180 degree change in his approach. It isn't working folks. He is getting outcoached. Our team plays stupid basketball. We have decent talent, we just continually make stupid plays and stupid decisions... and we don't hustle after rebounds at all.

Besides CU and NU, I don't think we will win again? We're just not good enough to.

His lack of recruiting athletic, well rounded guards is killing his career.

This, in a nutshell, is why we have the conference record under this coach that we do have.

He needs to step up his recruiting of guards, so we have better match ups out front. We need some players at the 1 and 2 that can consistently shoot the three ball and that are quick enough to defend.

Just gets so old when we are up at half against a great team and come out and play another bad 2nd half!

exactly. time and time again the team comes out for the second half flat, and yes players are the ones out on the floor but a continuous pattern of this is on the coaching staff.

Enginerd , yes, I have emailed Frank Martin and the KSU AD about his profanity. I do not approve of his language. Basketball games should be a family venue and Martin certainly puts a crimp on taking my wife and grandchildren to games.

Ya good luck with that. You will never get the time back you wasted doing that.

NO MORAL VICTORIES. Frankly, I'm just as upset if not more so with this great effort/execution in the first and going to sleep for much of the 2nd half as I would be with a blow out. Just shows this team plays up to the level of competition but still lacks the discipline to maintain it for 40 minutes. Talent is there, but that's about it.

I'm sick of this ********. Play a great first half, probably the most fun I've had in Hilton in a long time. Great energy from the team and thwarting off K-State to close the half as it looked like they'd go on a run and steal momentum.

And then we come out in the 2nd half like a bunch of moronic, soft wanna-be basketball players and not only give it all back - but dig ourselves a large deficit. Which is what we've generally been doing much of the season. Took a ton of early outside shots, didn't have the same hustle and turned the ball over like crazy (giving up 3 consecutive layups/dunks).

This team has the talent to play with almost anyone when they want to, but something happens at the half that is just mind numbing. I am exhausted with frustration for this team/program.

I hope you sent one to basically every athletic department then because of players and coaches.

Ah, I beg to differ. When it comes to language, Martin makes Bob Huggins and most other coaches sound like altar boys. Frank does not talk that way when not conducting a practice or coaching a game. He seems to go back to the ghetto of Miami when emotionally charged.

NO MORE CLICHES. Noone is claiming a moral victory, but thanks for throwing it in there.

Couldn't agree with you more. I just don't understand this team.....and its inability to play a 40 minute game. I just don't buy the short bench excuse either....there are team's that don't go any deeper that are very successful (watched Georgetown smoke Villanova today, and they play 7 or 8). This team either starts the game sleeping, or starts the second half that way. Frustrating as hell to watch game after game.

Watching the two huddles during TOs, KSU had all players focused on the coach. This was not true in our huddle. Several were staring away to space.

I thought most the guys played with good effort in the first half, but the start of the second half was pathetic. Please use timeouts coach Mac (no need in saving timeouts to make a 10 to 12 point loss down to 4 in the final seconds anymore).

Would love to see what Colvin could do in a starting role. I have watched DG mismanage the team for almost three years and don't care to pay to watch his crap any longer (no defense, can't finish and can't shoot) ooh but the assist to turnover ratio is great.:jimlad:

Please bring in an asst. coach like we had with Terry Reed. I thought he did a great job of coaching when he was here. I'm not sure if the asst. coaches we have now are of much help on the bench.

Sorry for the long rant but one last thing I did not like today was during pregrame warmups, the strength and conditioning coach Moser was dribbling around a basketball while the guys were jogging to get loose. He is not a great dribbler and all we need is one more guy to get injured with him dribbling the ball off his foot or something. He showed absolutely no fire compared to what the KSU coach showed. End of rant.

I would rather Colvin and DG both start rather than one or the other. DG is our best penetration option in the half court besides Gilstrap. I would like to see what he can do cutting off screens and moving without the ball to get looks. When you talk about managing games what other stat would you look at besides A/T for a PG? Hes not shooting too badly, he is at 44%. He's also shooting 40% from 3. He also handles the ball better than anyone on the team.
