Lol!!! We are 14-16 and well on the way to being 14-18. That is bad. Wait, that is borderline awful.

How many games were we right there in the end and we just couldn't finish? We aren't coached to win... we're coached to not lose... we are prepared to lose every game. We have not been prepared to win...

Any other high level, state employee would be fired for this kind of ineptitude. It wouldn't matter if that person's staff dropped the ball, the person making the big bucks would take the fall. I have no idea why any think it should be different from one of the top 10 paid state employees.

Most state employees don't require a severance package worth 2.5 mil though, either.....
Maybe Mac will realize that he's no good and donate it back to ISU MBB. No? That's what I thought too..

Ya you say that, but wouldnt you rather see a guy like Mac succeed instead of that ******* Gene Chizik?

That's not the point. He may be a nice guy. But I know a lot of nice guys that don't make the kind of money GMac does (did?).
If he was a nice guy he would realize the failure he has been to ISU and resign with no buyout. He's stolen enough money from ISU the last 4 years already.

I don't know about anybody else but I am really warming up to the Billy G potential regime.

Would Brackins and Gilstrap come back under Billy G and make their games better?

My wife said it was coaching that lost the game. She usually keeps a level head about this stuff. That and no real go to guy.

We aren't coached to win? Lol, that should pretty much end the discussion right there. This team has lost more games at Hilton than any, that is what bad teams do! In fact, that is the only thing this team is good at, finding ways to lose.

I was on the fence about GMac until tonight. How do you not get off a shot after calling time out?

90% of the time, I think a change is certainly necessary. other times, I look around the ncaa and wonder what a change really means. look at an example like John Beilin at Michigan. the guy was a super stud coach at WVU and his teams struggle at Michigan. so, is it this just 'fit'? maybe mcd really is a great coach, but ISU is just not a great fit. i don't know - i'm rambling. it is just really disheartening what is happening with ISU bball right now.

we had 14 wins...it can get worse, and probably would. And some of you would still want this incompetent "coach" back. Why not get started on the rebuilding and be potentially another year closer to the NCAA tourny instead of another wasted year further away.

Why? AD's aren't supposed to have anything, except winning as their driving force everyday. That, and making money in the athletic program of said university. Football and men's basketball pay the bills, that's it. We have sports that help out, but don't net anything. Jamie took a chance on an Iowa guy. Greg's a great person, he just is at the bottom of a %^$storm, and I don't htink there is a way out. This AD made the mistake of giving him a contract not based on performance, but potential, and he'll pay a price for that, too.

All they had do to force a 2nd ot was put pressure on the PG, instead they allow him to run free and score.
