There is word from a trusted recruiting guru that there is a 6'8" Forward living in Ames, Iowa. Most all recruiting services list him as a top 30 forward. This would be perfect to fill the open spots on the ISU roster. Think McDermott can win over this "Doug" kid's mother?

No way. If Greg isn't fired this spring/summer (please) than he for sure will be fired after he wins 7 game next year. Than Doug would just have to transfer anyhow. No need to waste a scholly on him.

At best he'd be a walk on? But L.A Pomlee gets a scholly? And Mann? And Eikmeier? And Alex Thompson? And Marsden?

Doug is a far better player than all listed above.

This topic has already been debated ad nauseum. A lot of kids don't want to play for their fathers. Whether it be from added pressure to perform, appearances of favoritism, or whatever else, it's a subject that not everyone handles the same way.

Yes if Jacobsen leaves we should take him.

Now that I disagree with. I think Doug will be a very good player but he isn't going to help right away in year 1. More than likely Greg is fired next year and than what? Doug is stuck at a school that fired his dad? So he transfers and sits out a year. Don't do it Doug

Jake is staying.

And how do you know this? Is the season over? He is going to be one of the hottest names out there when the season is over. If he is smart he takes the opportunity and makes the $$ while he can

Who else do we take then besides the Juccos. He would be one of the best remaining high school players left in the country if he opened it up. His basketball IQ would really help this team too.

Doug McDermott won't even play at a mid-major school. He didn't start for Ames till the end of his junior year.

What an ignorant post! You obviously haven't seen the kid play so why would you talk about it?

And he will be a very good player for UNI

We are very excited to have Doug coming to UNI.

And whoever said it is right, Jake isn't going anywhere, unless Tubby leaves and opens up the Minnesota job, then all bets are off.
