about the latest exodus from our beloved university?

I wonder if he might be thinking of his famous broadcast saying -- "Stop the bleeding!!".

Anybody hear Gary comment on the reason why so players are leaving the program?

He is probably delighted that practices are being conducted with "discipline"

Without reading all the posts in the thread, I would bet that Gary Thompson is saying, "Greg, if you don't put a winning team on the court next year, I can't help you out any more."

At least, that's what I would be saying.

And another 1st post wonder. God you guys crack me up.

So what is the magic number for worthless or irrelevant posts? Maybe next time, comments could bring something logical or sensible to the table instead of calling people out....

Now to the OP - I would really love to sit and talk w/Gary Thompson for 30 minutes just to get his assesment of the whole situation & 'state of the program.' I understand he's a legendary local boy but I would be curious to really see what his perspective is.

Also be curious to know how many times he and Greg have played golf together, as I'm quite certain that could tend to skew his opinion of the man a little.

When saying something like "I have spoken to other giants" without naming who they are, you are asking people to trust you. When it is your first overall post, there is no trust there, so it is perfectly reasonable to point out that the person shouldn't be trusted because they have no history here.

If you are going to "pop up" and bring info to the table like you are a big shot on a 1st post, you'd better bring some background on why you know what you do or you can expect to be the target of snide remarks.

Guy is a troll IMO.

In before I get called a troll in return

Same here. I have a lot of respect for that man and value his opinion.

And to be fair to Greg Mcdermott, I do think he deserves another year or two to prove himself with all the balony he's had to go through.

He can't even get his own team on board.

Exactly. He has 10 of 13 scholarships accounted for at YEAR 5!!!!

He's the only coach in the country that can call every year a rebuilding year and for some reason many people are still blaming "the mess he inherited" as the cause.

My guess just by the way things went down is that Thompson may have had a lot to do with getting rid of Morgan and bringing on Greg. If that's true we may not hear anything from Gary considering the state of the program.
