I really don't care what the squawks think of Cael, I imiagine they don't like him just for the fact that he always kicked their butt on the mat and replaced Gable as the greatest collegiate wrestler of all time. And now that he's in the same conference Cael will be dealing with Iowa probably more. Maybe Cael left strictly for the money, or maybe there was more involved or he wouldn't have even considered leaving. Cael seems to be very closed mouthed so he and his family may be the only ones to ever know. I guess I just don't have an ounce of anger or animosity toward Cael or the Sandersons who did so much for ISU wrestling.

Yea, Iowa wrestling fans are holding grudges because of what Cael did as a collegiate wrestler. :skeptical:

We scrambled to accommodate him, fired Douglas and he left for a much worse job.
Screw him.

if our lower weights had not wrestled as strong as they did,we would be lower in the overall standings.

So what happened between Escabedo vs Nickerson and Simaz vs Taylor in the 3rd place matches? We need both to lose to give us any shot.

What does this mean? Are you referring to ISU and if so who incredibly outmatches us? If you are referring to Iowa they beat us twice but not by much so I would not consider that incredible. Who are you referring to as young, Iowa, ISU or both? Both squads have several seniors and both will be rebuilding. From a performance standpoint at this tournament Iowa is doing a much better job but that is against a field of many teams not just one other.

With that said, does anyone know when the matches start tomorrow?

Sure iowa loses some big guns, but that roster is very very deep. we seem to load up on out of state kids. I know there is a geographical disadvantage with those IC kids, but the hawks are loaded.

Cyclone62- I think you give squawk fans too much credit. I'd guess most consider Gable their own now since he's been there for decades, so their greatest coach was replaced by Sanderson as the greatest collegiate wrestler of all time, and Sanderson kicked coach Gable's butt no matter who he put out there for the squawks. Yes, I'm just sure the squawks boos have nothing to do with that.

Ive never heard any Iowa fan boo Cael for what he did as an athlete...any Iowa fans I know appreciate the way Cael wrestled....have any Iowa fans told you different...as for a coach thats a different story....we boo his butt for being a coward as a coach and running with this tail between his legs admitting defeat

And I think you don't know what you're talking about.

Sorry, maintain242001, not buying it for a second. Cael is no coward as a wrestler or a coach. Squawk fans may use his changing coaching positions as an excuse to boo him, but I can't believe most squawk fans were upset with Cael because he left rival ISU to go to Penn State. It's just an excuse to boo him for kicking your butts for 4 years and replacing Gable as the greatest collegiate wrestler of all time.
