The worst place where you have lived?

Kansas City...weather is as hot as Texas in the summer, and as cold as Iowa in the winter (I know Iowa gets hot, but on average KC was 10 degrees higher and more humid). Not to mention the city can be explored and old in one day, and the people there have become defensive a-holes. Oh, and one other thing, the city is too close to Kansas and filled with K-State and KU fans. If that doesn't seal the deal for worst place, I don't know what will.

Kansas City ... really? Personally I think KC is awesome with the Power & Light District, Westport, The Plaza, Bonner Springs (Kansas Motor Sweedway, NFM, etc...), KC Royals, KC Chiefs, Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun, KC Zoo, Boulevard Brewing Company, great restaurants/bars/nightlife, 2 hours from the Lake of the Ozarks and 4 hours from Omaha/Des Moines/St Louis! How you can you beat all of this?

Let's give him credit though, he does play wing man well, so even though he's CB'ing himself, at least he's not dragging people down with him.

Just from the trip to Tempe, I can't see Kansas, Oklahoma, Western Texas, New Mexico, or parts of Arizona being desirable places to live. Good God.

There were places to live along that stretch? I swear to God, there was a point from Kansas into Oklahoma where I went a good hour and a half without seeing anything other than field. No gas, no houses, no nothin'.

Probably was. They post signs telling you how far it is to the next gas station... pretty sure some of those streches are atleast that long, if not longer

We could see the lights of Amarillo from 50 miles away.

That 11 lane road by the prison in Western Texas was a highlight because that sucked so bad.

Did we see civilization in New Mexico on the way there? At least the way back we were on 40.

Oklahoma at least had the McDonalds over the interstate.

I spent a long weekend in Waco TX once for a Big 12 track meet, that seemed like it was a month long.

But the absolute worst place is Clovis NM.

Ames...horrible weather, bad restaurants, no shopping, no night life for people out of college, etc... Ames is good for people with kids and has great schools.

CR is awful too.

Little Rock, AR is awful. God took a big **** on the city/state.

Little Rock is not that great, but dang its not that bad

"You DO realize that is the street where the House Party was that got broken up and lead to the VEISHEA Riot in '04 right?"

Needless to say, the house on Hunt Street was pretty much instantly scratched off the list of places to live [/QUOTE]
I can't remember exactly, but I signed my lease to live there either right before or right after the riots. I think it was after though. Needless to say, it was pretty quiet the year I lived there.

I lived there for a summer internship with Hormel Foods. The first 2 weeks I didn't have cable due to the provider being Time Warner Cable out of Omaha. Probably the most boring 2 weeks of my life.

Worst Building I've lived in: 103 S Hyland. Until it's recent renovation, it was without doubt the worst college house in Ames, and thats saying something.

Worst town: Probably my hometown, McIntire, IA. Not like I despise the place, by any stretch, but for the most part I've liked every place I've lived (Ames, Grimes, West Des Moines, Des Moines), so someone has to come in last. It's a long ways from anywhere (50 miles from Mason City, and 50 Miles from Rochester MN), and it's definitely a cultural drain. It loses.

Worst place I've visited: Waco, TX. If you've been there, you understand.

This is easy. Iraq.

1. It was hot.
2. There was nothing but sand everywhere.
3. No night life. (except the occasional mortar)
4. The locals were hostile.

I've been by Waco, and the area around it didn't make it see like a prize.

I'm sure no one could top a combat zone but how 'bout military towns...Jacksonville NC defines ****hole; strip club, gas station, tattoo parlor, motel - repeat...

Connersville, Indiana. I spent a summer there for an internship.
Town of 20,000, and the highlights of the town were the antique bowling alley, a scurvy Hardees (the only fast-food joint in town), and a small run-down K-Mart. Pretty much the only other thing in that town were run-down houses. Lots of broken glass and weeds growing in the residential streets around my apartment. I also think they have to have one of the lowest tooth-per-capita ratios in the country.

Easily, the most depressing place I have ever lived. The best thing about Connersville was looking at it in the rear-view mirror as I left town for the last time.
