Some of the items you say are true. He does know some of the Iowa coaches but you are not going to win with all Iowa kids and Gmac proved he could not get the good one. We are not going to win with the players we have now. Who do you think is good enought to win with. Think what we have for players and compare them with the other teams. Gmac is not going to change for anyone to an up tempo. It is his show. Why do you think players are leaving. We would be better off with Jake Sullivan. He know AAU coaches and is well thought of in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I still have not found out who GMAC has recruited. If Wayne Morgan end up at Iowa that will put us back 5 years.

GMac has STATED many times he wants to be more uptempo exactly because its appealing to more athletes. And someone who watches games can back up the statement that GMac often exhorted his guys to get out and run.

You do realize that McDermott wanted to run this year right? You do realize that in the first half of the season we DID run a lot, right? I really get irritated with people who obviously don't watch our games or their bias runs so deep that they can't see the truth. We stopped running when, in a short amount of time, Boozer got hurt, Lucca quit, Scotty C got sick, Chris C got an attitude, and Laron couldn't decide where he wanted to live.

Where I think Nurse might be a good move is that he seems to have a good relationship with players. Maybe it'll help with the player turnover.

Could someone please tell me why Nick Nurse will be able to come in and take over. GMAC is still the head coach, still his style of play. He will coach one position and take his orders from GMAC. He can not recruit. You got to be able to see the players and if you do not know the coaches of the players it won't happen. I just do not see where this helps ISU. What players has GMAC recruited to be in the top of the BIG 12.

Take a deep breath. Let's just wait and see how this plays out before you have a fit about it.

yes I do realize that its way too early to talk about next season but I think the key is gaining confidence. mac should get a favorable non conf. schedule (we don't need to get pounded by a team like duke again) but a team like st louis or northwestern or some mizz valley teams. also we need the big 12 schedule to be favorable. we need our first conf. game to be against nebraska or tech or colorado or maybe even Oklahoma? the texas game probably stayed in their heads too long this year and made them believe they couldnt close out games. the guys need to start with their confidence up which could get the fans back in it (we still need to pack hilton no matter what, we can't let it go to the sad state of carver hawkeye) which leads to upsets.

Nick was a star for UNI in mid 80s and then was a coach-player in England/European league and won titles. He has been around and won everywhere he has gone. As far as recruiting, he has more contacts through his NBA and d-league contacts that he would be perfect, but i always was told he may get a shot in the NBA. I have known him, written and photographed him for nearly 25 years.

Before we consider him signed and delivered I think that he will wait and see about the openings still to be had. He did mention in his interview the desire to go to UNI as a head coach if Jacobsen were to get pulled away to Minnesota or somewhere else if the dominos start to fall.

Colvin, Gilstrap, Brackins, Dendy

Do you actually know anything about the basketball team? Really. I am serious. The first half of the season was built on running the floor. Then we lost two guards and one had mono for the vast majority of the season. How does Wayne Morgan going to Iowa affect us? Do you think he could have gotten Barnes? He is heavy in New York. I would rather have Nurse here than Morgan.

I would have taken Brackins and Gilstrap over a lot of the guys in the conference last year. That is recruiting talent. I expect that we will be very happy with what Scotty and DG do next year as well as Colvin. Dendy could be very good as well, not to mention the guys coming in. You have proven to me in very few posts you really don't know what you are talking about. You seem to be one of those people that would ***** for bitchings sake. Get some knowledge of the team and come back with something that is actually reasonable and preferably factual.

Yes, one left, one was out for the season, one had some trouble with his leg, one had mono, one had a death in the family.......I don't care how much you donate. It is irrelevant.

Could you tell me how we got brackins and gilstrip and than I will tell you the truth.

First we cleaned it then we deep fat fried it. With a little ranch it was tasty.

I don't know, they wanted to come here more than they wanted to go anywhere else. That is my guess.

What's the truth? Did we pay them a bunch of money or what? Let me guess, an assistant was the reason they were here. That's doubtful. Head coaches in basketball are very important when it comes to recruiting because I feel that they are more involved on a day by day basis.

From what I remember hearing it was TJ that had the connection to Brackins. And for Gilstrap we were looking at Brad Reese and his coach told our coaches about Strap, and he was good friends with Horton I believe.

This is true. Ok, so we don't give Mac credit for the good ones. That is fine with me. The problem is you can't then blame him for not getting more of them. It doesn't work that way.

Not attacking you Wags, just using your facts to make a point.
