Well he would coach against his son even if he hadnt gone to Creighton. Same conference, now. But they would still play each other.

He would have to coach against him at either ISU or CU, not much choice in the matter. I doubt DMac is going to transfer to CU. Only difference with CU is he may have to coach against him three times a year (2 conference + if they meet in the tourney).

I heard from a reliable source here at work that Jacobson will release Doug McDermott from his LOI so he can go to Creighton with his dad.

McDermott vs. McDermott

Well, won't future UNI/Creighton games be interesting? McD coaching the 'Jays; McD Jr. playing for the Panthers. Momma McD will have to get half-courts duckets and stradle the line.

Re: McDermott vs. McDermott

He has to play ISU the next 2 years also. Unless that is the sticking point in the contract.

Wow, the 2nd thread by someone who doesn't realize they would've played each other with GMac still at ISU...

Re: McDermott vs. McDermott

You do know even if McD stayed at ISU, they'd still play each other so this move really doesn't change anything, right?

I put money on little McD going with him. I dont care what other people say about Jacobson not releasing him but I bet that he would let him go if he really wanted to.

Is there a chance that UNI lets him out of his LOI and allows him to go to Creighton?

wonder how wearing purple behind the UNI bench after his season is over
will go over in Omaha?

No kidding. If it happens, i doubt you will see the number of apologists we saw on this site. I am guessing Creighton fans will demand more from him than some ISU fans.
