How long are KXNO contracts? One year?

Amen to that. Matt, you need to listen to your show back when fans call in with decent takes. You immediately contest what they are saying before you even hear them out in a condescending way. Very weak, indeed and not a way help your ratings. I know more and more people who are tuning you out. John Walters was right in line with calling you out.

Hell, I think I'll even head over to Terrell, as much as that makes my stomach turn. I think it's time to hit I-80 West, back to Buggaha!

You also said Billy Gillispie wasn't a good coach which is laughable! The guy has been a winner everywhere he's been. SEC COY his first year at Kentucky, and run off after a 22 win season because Calipari was their first choice. Get your facts straight.

Matt first of all I listened to your show in omaha. I enjoyed it but that is because I hate NU. You might not want to **** off half of your listening market for a second time. It did not turn out so well for you in Omaha. All coaching hires are a crapshoot Licklighter was NCOY and his team just lost in the finals. Mcdermott was good at UNI. I would not bet against Hoiberg if I were you. Great leaders are born not made.

I stayed quiet cause I'm not getting into a fight with every Cyclone fan who wants to desperately believe that this is a good move when they know it's a hail mary.

Gary Parrish compared it to McCain picking Palin!

Walters was out of line. He knew it. It happens. We all move on....

That's fine if you see it as a mistake. I think the mocking attitude you've taken towards it may hurt you. He was right about you giggling and you should probably think twice about alienating a large part of your audience next time.

He's your voice - I get it. But it was an major league overreaction. I've said a lot worse. Fred is his friend ... he loves Iowa State ... I get it. It's ok. But coming after me doesn't make the hire any better.

Says the guy with an obvious agenda. I'm not 100% sold on the hire either, but then I don't know all the details, do I? You just assumed what the staff was going to look like and now is seems that you were wrong. I'm sure that doesn't change anything though. Bottom line is that you were acting like a 12 year old girl and if Chris wasn't going to put you in your place, I'm glad that an experienced sports reporter with some class like John was there to do it.

Matt no need to rain on the our Day... Cyclone fans love Fred Hoiberg let me give you some facts on the "Mayor"

1. He Played for Johnny Orr, Tim Floyd and played in 3 NCAA Tourney's. He is an Academic All- American and has always been a student of the game. I think he has a weatlh of Knowledge about coaching Basketball.

2. He just hired TJ Otzelberger and Jeff Grayer. TJ brought in Brackins, Gillstrap, Mike Taylor and a bunch of very good recruits. Jeff Grayer ran youth Bball programs in Flint Michigan and is very connected to the area.

3. All 5 recruits have recommitted to ISU 5 for 5 just a little better than the Iowa mess. Look at the 5 recruits they have commitments from all very good players.

4. ISU coaching staff has 20 years of NBA playing experience on staff that is what recruits want to hear. They will be a recruiting machine. Hell the kids 22 of them could not stand GMAC and transferred. Fred will relate well to the players as will Grayer.

5. This hire has already energized the fan base he will sell season tickets and bring a loyal fan base excitement.

Pollard hit one out of the Park with this hire. Saved 3.3 million dollars and the lame duck coaching change. I like GMAC and think he was a good coach at UNI but for whatever reason he started 3 professional basketball players at ISU last year and went 15-17 and never had a winning record in 4 years at ISU. I hope he wins at CU and I would ask you give the Mayor a chance before cutting him down. He can't do any worse than winning 4 conf games in year #4 ISU can only go up from this point. Be respectful young man and people will do the same to you.

Just a question, are you willing to admit that you may have been acting a little immature/unprofessional leading into the interview?

Well then Gary Parrish is an idiot. Sarah palin didn't know what the Republican party was before she was chosen. Fred Hoiberg is ISU. Palin was not The Rep Party. HUGE diff.

PS you are out of line for throwing GMAC under the bus for a season and then getting giddy when he is your coach at Creighton. Get ready to be disappointed.

How was I disrepectful? To Walters? I didn't say a word about him when I could have said he's a mouthpiece for Pollard....now that's disrespectful.

I just laughed at the hire cause I couldn't believe it. I still can't. It's nuts. Sometimes nuts works...most times - it doesn't. I agree with Keeler - Fred better be sure. MJ thought it was a good idea...it wasn't.

Coaching and playing are very different, as I'm sure he knows, but to learn on the job in the Big 12? Wow.

Wasn't Nurse suppose to be the brains? I just hope he gets an ex-head coach for his staff cause the current one doesn't have enough college experience.

So you "pop" every person who talks bad about the clones?

No, I can take people talking bad about the clones. In many cases they deserve it. And in this case, I totally understand doubting the move. But I don't suffer people being a punk (to me). And the way Matt was going about things was just about the clearest case of acting like a punk you can describe.

Really Matt? Your conduct towards John could only be referred to in the most positive light as sophomoric. You showed how immature you are. You are certainly nowhere close to objective and I think you are an embarrassment on the radio as far as the sports scene in central Iowa.

No Nurse was never supposed to be the brains. Hoiberg is the guy that played at ISU and in the NBA. I believe he is the brains. Just cause Creighton doesn't have an ex-NBA'er at the helm don't get jealous.

Never thought I would miss Marty the mouth, but lately as soon as Murph and Fales sign off, so do I. I tried listening to these guys for a few days, but I found it very annoying.

I say replace them with CW, he has more info and is actually polite to his guests. No matter who they are.

Just my take.

Yeah, Billichek and Terry Francona would be better hires than FH.:jimlad:

I get that it's your job to stir the pot, but I have to agree that the crap with John was over the top. It's one thing to have an opinion, quite another to act like a 13 year old *****. I used to be a fan when you were in Omaha, but now it's just getting to be a tired act.

How were you disrespectful? Ask your partner when he gets back. How bout that. How do you think Ken would feel about that?
