If we were to Newberry it would be the single biggest recruiting get in our history....

Who is Mike Marsaille?

He looks like a teamate of Newberry. He is an offensive linemen. His rivals page has him at 6'5 290.

Newberry, IMO has a great chance to be a 5 star guy by the time he is done. Incredibly gifted and very big. I am guessing 6'5-6'6 and around 260 with room to grow. He is the type of player a defense lives on. I'm surely not saying he will be like Suh, but could have a similar impact on offenses. Very excited to hear he is visiting.

Marsaille hasn't drawn the offers yet but my guess is that he will. I think he has interest from a few big name schools, just not the offers.

Huh? We have had decent recruits sign up. None lived up to the billing, but they were good recruits. Trent Flanders was seen as the second coming, Paul Fischer, was supposed to be awesome, and Patrick Webster was an absolute monster back. None panned out, so we shouldn't just go after talent to go after it.

Was Patrick Webster the dyslexic cousin of Webster Patrick?

How outstanding would it be to get Newberry as our 1st recruit? That would just set the table for probably the best class we've ever pulled.

Honest question...do you guys realize our recruits read these boards? Enough with the MAC crap...it ain't happening so why inject that nonsense in every thread?

Good post.

Do you guys think they'll come back in the fall? Ames in June is a lot different than Ames during the school year. AND, it would be great if they could come to one of the early season games.

I would hope recruits and their families are smart enough to do some research on conference realignment possibilities instead of finding out through message boards that ISU may be on the outside looking into the BCS.

As far as spamming every thread with the MAC stuff, yeah, i'll agree with you that it's just kind of annoying.

Paul Rhoads is still the same guy. People aren't coming here for Ames. They are coming because they can see PR is the real deal. Those top tier guys often aren't as worried about the social aspect as the middle tier. they are coming here to propel themselves to the next level and to play football.

The players we recruit come to ISU to play in the Big 12...to play in BCS level football. CPR plays this up more than anything I would bet. If we leave the Big 12 it will devastate our recruiting...I don't think that will happen but the constant talk on ISU's #1 website can't be a good thing.
