Interesting possible MWC move to Big XII for BCS

Teams from the MWC would come to the Big XII. That way they could cut Wyoming loose.
I'm just holding onto hope that not as many teams jump ship, as have been talked about. That way we can invite 4/5 teams and salvage the B12.
There is, but it is on DirectTV, not basic cable like the Big Ten Network or the Pac 16 network will be. Also doesn't pay out much per school. I don't know the exact number, but it won't be anywhere near the $20 million figure talked about with the Big Ten/Pac 16 networks. Probably not even close to the $7.5 million ISU currently makes.
This is looking like the best available option. ISU, KU, KSU, MU, Louisville, and Cincy in the east division. The best six we can get from the MWC in the west division.
Hopefully we can arrange a deal with the Texas delegation to allow us to retain the Big XII. Six MWC schools gives us the required legitimacy in the eyes of the NCAA (something about 6 schools playing together for 5 years).
When we all know what ISU's place is in this mess...THEN you can come back here and slap our wrists for crying wolf.

Exactly. The people that talk about this have apparently never tuned in to MTN. It's damn near public access, with no national sponsors. It's not like just having a tv network brings in a bunch of money.
What is ISU going to do about wrestling? You know, the sport that ISU is best known for, and the one that we are presently best at? As far as I can tell, there are zero MWC teams that have wrestling.
Not a big deal. A lot of wrestling is done out conference anyway and tourneys. there are enough Big Time wrestling programs nearby to still do it.
Either does the Pac16. OU and OSU will be looking as well. BSU has a decent program so they could get back up to at least five teams. I think that there will be a midwest conference in wrestling that includes schools like UNI, OU, OSU, ISU, Mizz, BSU and every other school around here that aren't in the Big10.
From what I understand, the MTN network is actually owned by the MWC. So if we invite teams from the MWC they probably don't bring that with them. We would likely have to start our own.
