The only concern with the Big East would be it's long-term viability, especially in football. Would we be walking right into a new hornets nest of expansion talks when the SEC and ACC inevitably start to tear at each other? We could be in worse shape 5 years from now.
The Big East, if stable, is by FAR the best option right now.

If the SEC expands, it'll be raiding the ACC, not the Big East (they're looking at Georgia Tech, Clemson, Florida St, and one of UNC/Miami/VT).
When this happens, the Big East is a conference that is much more desirable than the ACC.
