I wasn't talking about the money. We better be able to see everyone of our football and basketball games with this new deal.
Agreed, a major bullet dodged. However, it has made me very leary of Texas. They have shown that they will be very hard to trust.
Differences in revenue for schools is still based on TV appearances. i.e. Texas & OU get more of the pie b/c they are on TV more. However if ISU has a very strong year they will be on TV more and make more $.
It is unfortunate that we had to lose Nebraska and Colorado to get this done. Two long time opponents of us are gone. If Beebe would have been more pro-active and done this a couple years ago, it would have been better. We are NOT better w/out Nebraska and CU. but over all, if it is true and the big12 stays, I am happy.
I'll celebrate a few years from now if the conference has stabilized and the threat of implosion is gone. ISU is hardly out of the woods right now and a conference implosion a few years from now could leave the school in an even worse position than we are right now with no other viable options other than CUSA or MAC. As far as dodging a major bullet, I fully agree, and I'm at least grateful for that much - but that's as far as I'm about to go right now.
$20-$25 million for Texas, A&M, OU. $14-$17 million for ISU and everyone else. I'll take that in a heartbeat!

How can you argue with Texas? They were making less money than a lower tier Big 10 school. Honestly...just think about that. It is sad that they had to come off as the greedy guys here when the Big 12 commissioner should have been looking out for the ENTIRE conference the last few years. This was something that we knew would happen at some time..I just have a hard time being leary of Texas. They did what they had to do, we are along for the ride and now we have more $$.
I don't think there is such a thing as stability anymore. Do you think joining the Big East would have been stable? Or the MWC? NOT. Nothing is stable anymore.
You just do what you can to survive... and right now, this is the best case we can possibly get. Our revenue nearly doubles. You can't argue with that. Obviously, you never know how long it will last, but you don't know that anywhere you end up in these times.
Add Memphis please. That would add at least 5-6 million a year per team.
I am!Yeah, you're right, because everyone is watching Memphis football!
