Weighing in on the which place is cheaper debate, Fareway may in fact have cheaper prices, but I also find that when I go to Hy-Vee, I buy more simply because they have more. I haven't cross-referenced prices, but could it be possible that some of us buy more at Hy-Vee and that leads us to believe that their prices are higher?
You buy your food depending on if the store you shop at supports the Hawks or the Cyclones? I would much rather shop somewhere that has a wide variety and at good prices.
Also, try going to any Cedar Rapids Hy Vee, you won't find much Cyclone stuff. So both franchises show favorites depending on the market.
Don't forget to measure the store manager's *****. You wouldn't want to shop at a store where you were made to feel inadequate.
Fareway's meat is hard to beat.
On an item per item basis, same product, same company, Fareway is cheaper. Way cheaper. If you use Hy-Vee brands, you may narrow the difference some. But without a doubt, Fareway is much cheaper. At least where I live.
Fareway also matches the competitor's price. And Fareway does the research. So ALL Hy-Vee sale prices are automatically matched, with a small sign that notes "Competitor's Ad".
Hy-Vee is 24 hours, 7 days a week. Fareway is 6 days, and 14 hours per day. Our Hy-Vee has a bit more selection. But there is no doubt that Fareway is much cheaper.
The kind of fan that chooses his allegiances based on what team is on the chip display at Fareway is not the kind of fan we should be aiming for.You should - every business that puts in more UI stuff just promotes them even more and garners more fans - like that is all we need.
Any time I see a display like that I ask where the ISU display is and there was one time an employee actually said there is no plan for an ISU display and I said I have no plans on shopping here either and walked out. I know this is somewhat extreme but unless they know people have a problem with it it will continue. And yes it doesn't happen very often.

Because it's obviously good if ISU fans are as childish as possible and whine about stupid ****, it'll only help our cause. So, you behave like a child because they don't have an ISU display? Please explain the rationale behind this absurd behavior in better detail ,please.
Well, that would be desperate times, which would call for desperate measures. That's when you take out a loan from the bank, set up your own distribution center and launch cyclonegroceryshopping.comWhat if the people running the online grocery store were contributing to Iowa?![]()

on another note, i was in Walmart in Le Mars this week and they only had Hawkeye t-shirts for sale. No sign of ISU gear?
Well I don't give a ****, but I'm also a post *****, the two are constantly in competition with each other. For a guy that "My opinion is who gives a ****" you may have the most posts in this thread.

Congratulations. Hey, while you're at it, could you call the Cedar Falls Wal-Mart for me? All they carry for college t-shirts are Northern Iowa and some Iowa.UPDATE: Thanks to Fareway manager Doug, they have taken down the Hawkeye display until they have Iowa State flags etc to go with it.
