The offense gets this loss - mistakes by QB and O-line on every drive except one. So here we are again counting on a young defense to keep us in the game. Sure would like to see what the DEF could do with a little breathing room.

JEROME TILLER

We can't do any worse.

Yeah, I think he should at least get some playing time. Not trying to bag on Arnaud because he clearly has a ton of heart, but by now we pretty much know what we are going to get. Why not mix things up a bit and get Tiller in there for some drives as well? He looks to have a lot of potential - especially if we are going to continue to do that shotgun run option as much as we have been.

I don't know if I would blame it entirely on AA. I feel like the coaches made a bad call in playing him hurt at the end of the game. I would've rather taken a healthy JT then an injured AA. Had he not been hurt, then keep him in. Overall, Thomas was just too much for our defense. We can get some more W's this season, we just need to totally overhaul our defense against the run (well, pass too but not as badly). Get our run-D to a respectable state and we should be decent. Our Offense just needs to become more consistent, we have some pretty good moments just need that consistency (and no penalties at the worst possible moment).

You folks make me just proud to be an isu football fan. Absolutely zero faith or trust in your team or coaching staff. Imo, this was a great bounce back from last weekend. I saw a lot to be proud of. I saw a lot that needs improvement. I also find it disheartening that the defensive leader is a sophomore linebacker after all the talk I heard in the offseason

OK, I gave another piece of my heart to ISU today, so I can comment.
KSU was clearly better and toyyed with us. Why can't we use some O-linemen on the line in run situations to suck up space?!?!? Our defense is horrid. KSU could get 8 yards whenever they wanted.

Glad the right tackle was removed late in game. That was not good, and you gotta bring more than that to the game.

A priority for Rhoades is to work on Big12 referees.......the show NO respect for ISU and any marginal call will go against us when games are still in the decision process. We will get blown out some this year, and the Texas referees will insure we lose those games. But the close games we will have left......Colorado, Kansas, even nebraska at home, we have to get the referees to be equitable. Where was the equity in the offensive pass interference today?!?!?!? that was bull. Was there ever a holding call against KSU? Yet we get them always at drive killing time.

I salute Austin A, but he never has had touch on passes. He looks like someone really trying hard to be a quarterback....but not quite getting it done. Less time on film and more time throwing a nerf football in yard with some kids is what he needs most now to have some success late in his senior year.

Get the refereeing respect straightened out Paul!! You should have done a Eustachy on that offensive pass interference. Until we get a stouter line, get an fat olineman to play noseguard for odin's sake on the short run plays. Recruit taller atheletes to play corner back. Ignore freaking speed stats and player position histories.....get a Div 1AA type quarterback or widereciever and DEVELOP them as corners and safeties. I feel like I am back in 1990's maccarney world with our smurfs.
Looking at this schedule, again McCArney and staff really screwed the opportunity they had in the middle of this decade when conference was down. And I am a Maccarney fan!!!! They should have won a few more of those games and had this program in a much different spot in 2010.

I have complete faith in my team, I'm just stating the facts of what was a bad call and what we need to improve. I know we can do it, just a matter of execution. Keeping AA in at the end was a toss up, but I just think a healthy QB would've been the better option, especially since we operated well with him filling in for AA when he was initially injured. Again, if AA would've not been injured, then totally fine keeping him in.

"penalites at worst possible moment" are a function of the subjective mindset of the Big 12 refs and their lack of respect for ISU. Not a conspiracy, but a group think that if a call is blown, it certainly is not going to be against the team with more fanbase clout or potential to damage the referee's career. This is real. How could KSU have no offensive holding calls against them?!?!?!

I am NOT an Arnaud hater... in fact i have defended him endlessly. And I still believe he can do an alright job... but he probably won't ever win a game for us. I think playing Tiller at least some of the time - alternating drives, maybe - would at least give us another aspect to our offense, which is too far below average right now.

Arnaud is a great leader, a great guy, and probably a better quarterback right now because of his experience. But why not try to tap into Tiller's potential a little bit? We have nothing to lose.

When I speak of the right tackle, I speak of the guy who gave up the sack/fumble because the play before he got schooled just as bad.

Don't be a poor sport about the refs. Yeah, some calls went against us today (probably should've been OPI late in the game) but we did ourselves in more than once on key drives with false starts and such. The refs can't get every play right, but if they are consistently getting them wrong from game to game then something needs to be done. We helped K-State beat us today in more ways than one, the refs didn't need to give them any help.

Defense = horrible (not current coaches fault). No reason in breaking down every position, all 11 are not good.
AA = can't make a big/clutch play (not coaches fault)
WR = Not physical, hold a block, get off the line (not coaches fault)
No one on the radar to take the helm next year (not coaches fault, today)
Special Teams = teams (not coaches fault)

ISU is now in rebuild mode and close to 6 feet deep and dead.

Coaches need to make recruiting strides this year with JUCO or play now type of guys. They still have a long window to make it... but year 3 we need to see improvement... yep, week 3 and I am talking about year 3... next year. Please, oh Please Mr. Herman, find a quality TX QB up to Ames ....

Only bright spot... and ONLY... is Woody, did a decent job!

I am a poor sport? Just wait when we play Texas and others, there will be lots of make-up calls late in game so the penalty stats will say it is about even on offensive holding, but in reality all the calls will go against ISU when the game is close....like int he 1st quarter.
How long have you been watching ISU football??? You think we get a fair shake on Offensive Holding penalties? Give me a break. We all know the ref. could call it every play, yet we get them when we are in critical situations....always. I challenge you to watch the Nebraska Offensive line when they come to Ames.....don't watch the ball, just watch the holding go unchecked play after play after play.....then we will get a holding call on 1st and 10 when we are driving to get a lead or something. Remember the Blythe offensive pass interference call against NU???? And that was Callahan for God's sake......Callahan demanded more juice from the refereees than ISU will ever get unless someone fights for it or demands it.

Amen. A lot of agree with you and Tiller needs the reps so next year we aren't hearing the "young team" excuses. two quarterback system starts against UNI.
