I don't believe anything I hear on ESPN, lol, I knew that there were some rumblings of what could have happened if all that **** went down but I didn't know there was every any concrete back-up plan.
It was reported by the Washington Post and no other because it didn't fit the high drama that TV and news stations wanted. The Big East comissioner came out and even stated KU, KSU, Mizzou, and ISU had a home int he Big East if the Big 12 had imploded. It was a **** poor job by the media. horrible job and local media was the worst.

To that account i have been to Jack Trice during a husker game. We actually lost in 05 i believe and the heckling i got leaving that stadium was atrocious. I went to the nebraska oklahoma game last year. Our most hated rival, and not one bit if heckling was heard from me during the game and in the parking lots after.

Im not going to the game this year because frankly i dont want to go to jail. Its not that i go looking for a fight, but i have a feeling jacked up drunk cyclone fans will. Especially if the game gets out of hand. I think ill just watch it from the confides of my mobile home this year. Too bad, i root for isu every other game.

There if fixxed it for you. Sorry BRPW, I couldn't resist.

I will say, that I have to agree with an earlier post about alot of NU fans. Due to only having one team in Nebby, the fan base is alittle of balance. They all act alot like UoI fans......worship the ground the players walk on in one moment, and then wants the same player on the next train out of town the next. ie Martinez a couple of weeks ago. Winning and always expecting to do so, will do this to a person. Much of why most ISU fans are humble fans.

I will be one of the Clones that offer a friendly ribbing to a NU passer by, but I'll plan on finishing the cans of beer, and depositing them on a near recycling bin, aka the ground. I think of it as community support and a way for students to make money.

And you, my friend, have zero sense of humor. I thought it was kind of catchy! Anyway, those husker fans need to work on their beer can dodging if they are going to survive Iowa City...those cans will move a lot faster because they're full. Consider it a favor that I'm helping them train!

Nice call on the beer can dodging in IC..!!

Oh my god, Iowa fans are sooo stupid haha. After chucking beer cans at the ISU fan they start chanting "USA, USA, USA!" Looks like stanzi rubbed off on them.

I agree 100%, to be fair to NU fans though, the "greatest fans in college football" was originally brought up by our opponents, generally out of conference foes who weren't around nebraska fans very much and had limited experience in lincoln, and the engraving of it into our entrances was the brainchild of Steve Pederson, our Ex AD, someone whom I'm sure if you asked most husker fans, is not a person we like.

Fair enough.

We were treated really well in Lincoln, but it was hard not to feel like as soon as we were out of sight that the Husker fans were like "look at us, being so nice to our opponents! We're great fans!", or that there wasn't this total "it's ok little Timmy! You'll be a big boy someday yes you will!" type attitude. I really don't think I'd have felt like it was condescending if it wasn't for some Nebraska fans who puff their chest about being great fans.

I've also noticed a HUGE difference between Nebraska at Lincoln, and Nebraska fans in other places/Nebraska fans that aren't even from Nebraska.

My problem is not with ribbing, that happens everywhere. My problem is with people wanting to ensue any type of violence of any kind on someone. Its just a football game, no matter how you slice it.

Yea, I hear you on the condescension thing, I would feel the same way, and don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are fans out there who really believe in the whole "greatest fans in college football" mantra, and I've seen them trying to play "big brother" to other teams fans..most fans that I know write that off as "douchebaggery" as someone said earlier.

FYI, if you're referring to my post than the douchebaggery I was referencing was actually the terrible Cyclone posters in this thread.

Its not being a ******** if your trying to be nice to someone. If you say great game to someone while your laughing. That is being a d-bag.

Not saying being nice to someone is the same thing, I'll give you an instance to illustrate what I'm talking about...I'm a huge Phoenix Suns fan, I've loved them since I was a little kid and I always will, they are generally a middle of the road basketball team and always get thumped in the playoffs by the Lakers..and everytime we lose to them, some laker fan comes over with the "awww shucks guys, you played really hard, good luck in the future, you'll get em next time", and even though on the surface he's being nice, what he's really saying is "you'll have a good team next year, just not as good as mine." My point is that even when someone is being nice, their words can still have an air of elitism..and that pisses people off.

Nebraska fans are the most worthless and annoying fans on the planet for any team, anywhere. I wish them nothing short of poverty and hunger and I hope the Big10 makes them their ******* for the next millenium. Nothing would please me more than seeing Nebraska as the perenial bottom feeders of the big10...short of seeing the whole school turn into the community college they pretend they aren't. I will not be violent to any cornholer, but I WILL NOT welcome them to Iowa, to Ames, to Jack Trice or anywhere else. And, if there is Nebraska blood on the field Saturday...that will be me standing and cheering.

I already repped a previous post of yours so I can't get this one although it deserves it.

+1,000,000

**** Nebraska!!!

Hey GBR1, I went to Ames two years ago and the fanbase was very nice to us, though if this messages on this board are any indication I think I'll wear a helmet this year. I'm going to the game as well, I think we're just gonna find a bar early and hang out for a bit and maybe tail gate before the game, there's a big group of us, around 30 or so..if you want to come with I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.

Another CF love connection made. How sweet. :jimlad:
