There is NOT a simple answer to a Division I FBS post-season.
Oh, I have one, I'm just waiting for the BCS to pay me $100 million and buy a supercomputer to do the number crunching for it before I say what it is.
There is NOT a simple answer to a Division I FBS post-season.
It has been determined by those getting paid that the present BCS arrangement will generate more $$$ for the schools than a playoff system. Presently, this is the only argument that matters.
I don't know why more people can't get their head around this.
I don't really know why they need all of these computer rankings. They are good for nothing. If everyone knows who should be playing for the National Title then it's moot. They got it right.
In this case it was non impactful, however as noted in the article Stanford at #4 is in, Stanford at #5 is potentially out... That would have been an impact worth noting I'd think.I think I missed something... is there some huge difference between 10th and 11th or 17th and 18th that requires us to freak out about this?
My two cents is that we revamp the AQ conference thing... use computers to determine the 6 strongest conferences and give the champions of those conferences a BCS bowl, then the rest goes as it does already.
