I don't really know why they need all of these computer rankings. They are good for nothing. If everyone knows who should be playing for the National Title then it's moot. They got it right.
On a whole it was to bring the pac-10 and big 10 in, but they could have done that with just human polls too I'd imagine.
I think I missed something... is there some huge difference between 10th and 11th or 17th and 18th that requires us to freak out about this?
My two cents is that we revamp the AQ conference thing... use computers to determine the 6 strongest conferences and give the champions of those conferences a BCS bowl, then the rest goes as it does already.

In this case it was non impactful, however as noted in the article Stanford at #4 is in, Stanford at #5 is potentially out... That would have been an impact worth noting I'd think.
