This is awful for the UI, but at the same time...

Do clone fans really think that no one on your squad is doing drugs? Weed, Pain Killers, Coke, ect...

It is not IF there are drugs being done by college football players...it is IF they get caught.

Your beloved clones included...
Its unlikely that they are football players by day and drug dealers by night.

Not as unlikely as 1 would think. i'm not sayin, i'm just sayin.[/QUOTE]

This would be a good time to vent about this nonsense. If I never see this again that will be ok, or any derivative of.

Oh, and DJK is an idiot, HA HA on the Hawks and hope we arent next...

Im waiting for more to come out of this, this sort of operation is not done by two people. Who else was involved, any players? With the investigation underway, I would not be suprised to see other players' names coming up.

This was not a big operation. Chances are that a large portion of Iowa football players were aware of DJK's behavior. Other players probably hung out with DJK and participated in similar behavior. I doubt any of them were involved with distribution.

Not sure why everyone assumes the coaches know. I know my coaches never knew the stuff I did in my spare time nor did they know who my roommates were if they were not athletes.
I am not saying the coaches didn't know but to assume they had to know is incorrect.

This. Pretty sure cocaine use among athletes happens at all schools. Living with a convicted drug dealer is a completly different issue and one I think the coaching staff should have been aware of.

I guess I figured that a D1 coach would at least know your who you room with. It's not like DJK was a huge investment for KF or anything...

Keep in mind KF didn't know his own son was living in subsidized housing. How would he know who DJK was living with?

Of course he didn't know where his son was living.

Just like Cam Newton had no idea his dad was getting money for recruiting.

And those people at USC, they had no idea that Reggie Bush and his family were getting money and a place to live.

Without reading the whole thread......are college athletes subject to drug-testing during the season? If so, does anyone know what the rules/guidelines are? Is it left up to the school to do, or is the NCAA involved? If there is drug-testing of some sort, then how the hell was he not caught before this? Just wondering.

yes, iowa self tests, and from what I have been told(by a former player) the players know when the tests are coming.

There were a couple on ISU. Every team probably has some, a lot of college students want to party with the athletes, easy for them to have a lot of connections and access to drugs.

Sounds like KF knew before the Minnesoata game and DJK did not start.

I got a kick out of the reasoning in one of the newspaper articles..."because the other receiver had a better week of practice." Really? Your all-time leading receiver isn't going to start the last regular season game of his career and it has NOTHING to do with KF knowing about this drug stuff at that point?? It sounds pretty bad for a head coach to flat out lie like that.

According to DJK, it was due to 'a flippant remark he made' to Coach. Or something.
