What I want to know is, what does it take to get the credit for a start? Because he showed up for like 1 play last week, got injured and left the game. Still got credit for a start. So, even though he can't throw, couldn't he have just shown up, handed the ball off to AP once or twice, and then call it a day?
EDIT: Not that I care about his record. Just wondering how they hand out credit for starting.
There needs to be an asterisk next to Favre's name for the record streak. An NFL player would be able to play through any pain and injury if they were taking 12 vicodin a day like Favre was early in his career.
I'm 18 years old...so for the first time in my life..Brett Favre isn't starting a game..that's crazy!
You need to watch the "America's Game" on the 1996 Green Bay Packers if you really don't know what I'm talking about. What you talkin bout Willis

Why not? He took drugs that allowed him to perform in games he otherwise would not have played in. Thus inflating the starting streak.I know what your talkin about. There shouldn't be an asterisk though.

How many are popping 12 vicodin a day like Favre admitted to? Because if there are any, they should be going through drug rehab, like Favre did.I don't think you realize how many players do things like this.

Even if his starts from the '93/'94/'95 seasons were removed from the books because of his pain killer over usage, Favre would still own the consecutive start streak. It just would not be as high as it is.

I don't think you realize how many players do things like this. It's a part of the game and that's fine. It's his body let him do as he pleases. This is IMO the most impressive streak in the history of sports because of the fact that he played the QB position and how he played it. He took soo many huge hits and the fact that he never missed a start in 18 years blows my mind.
