Central Iowa's greatest purveyor of spirits, wine and malted beverages: Cyclone Liquors.

Great! Cyclone liquors does impress me with there beer selection - or it's just that every other liquor store in Ames disappoints me

You probally will have a hard time finding any from Dogfish Head in Iowa. They don't distrubute to Iowa. We were getting some through a distrutor in Illionis until Dogfish found out. It has been shut off to Iowa. They have some pretty interesting beers. I hope it will start coming back to Iowa.

Have you been watching "Brewmasters" on the Discovery Channel? I have no idea about the distribution in Iowa, but their beers are all pretty good. Had the '******* Brew' from the first show not too long ago...really good.

Beer Crazy in Urbandale might have it.

I would love to know if anyone found this too. I am totally addicted to brewmasters. I want to try some of their brews.

We used to get a lot of 60 Minute, and a few other Dogfish Head seasonals. Various liquor stores in the DSM Metro, Cyclone Liquors in Ames, and John's in IC have all carried it.

I heard that they were trying to scale back, and thus no more distribution to Iowa. I'd love to see there stuff here again. 90 Minute and 120 Minute are awesome.

I've had a great many of them. 60 minute is a nice everyday brew if you're having more than one. 90 minute is probably my favorite. They really know how to make beer. Burton Baton & Palo Santo Marron are quite tasty, but are harder to find. I've trying to find some ******* Brew but haven't been successful yet.

I had their Indian Brown Ale at El Bait Shop in Des Moines. It was great. Haven't looked anywhere else yet, but they had quite a few Dogfish Head beers.

Their raison detre is awesome, you can get their beers from ohio to the east coast. West of ohio the selection and odds of finding it get slim.

I was home for Thanksgiving and stopped in at Cyclone Liquors to pick up $100 variety of beers for my brother and I. No dogfish head in Iowa right now according the the cyclone liquor owner. Apparently Hy-Vee and a distributor got into it a bit and Dogfish Head decided they didn't want to deal with the idiocy and cut the whole state off. Apparently a new distributor in Iowa is in the works... I'm hauling a bunch back from NYC for the first annual Xmas beer tasting with my brother. 120 min IPA is scarce... can't find it anywhere right now as they had to dump their last batch due to bad yeast.

I've had pretty much everything they bottle and it's all awesome. If you want dark I recommend the Chickory Stout, but not if you want to go to sleep. Their IPAs are incredible but I'll tell you this, for the $12 I had to pay for the 120 minute on draft it wasn't worth it. IMO the 90 is every bit as good as the 120 and a lot less money. I first started trying their stuff 8 year ago and have never been dissapointed.

I'm a big Dogfish fan, and I highly recommend a visit to the brewery/restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, DE if you're ever in the vicinity (only a couple hours from DC or Philly or Baltimore). I find the 90 and 120 min IPA's to be way too sweet but I love the 60 min, Burton's Baton and India Brown Ale.
