I think 8 wins is a decent number to be given but its a little optimistic. Being realistic they will probably get 5 or 6 and that would be awesome and help them out on making some type of postseason.

Now K-State on the other hand shot shot them self in the foot with being so overrated then loosing kelly and pullen for a couple games. They just don't have a leader right now and it doesn't seem like anyone is going to stand up and be that go to person.

How about kenpom giving the big ten the top rated conference in the country?
It is sort of a true statement but the Mich St is really hurting them and some of the teams that are ranked in the bottom half of the top 25 are playing poorly as of late. I don't see the Big Ten getting more than 6 going into the tourny in March

the rating seems about right so far. Hard to believe CO will continue to play so well and end up 4th.

Colorado still has to play KU twice, @ Mizzou, @ ISU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor

Thats' 7 more potential losses.

His schedule shows us going 10-6 with a 23-9 record, but says we're predicted to go 8-8.

He shows ISU going 9-7 on a game by game basis. He shows us finishing 8-8 based on collective probabilities of the remaining games.

Either way they are much better than any of us realistically could have expected going into this season.

I don't know. Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Illinois and Purdue are easily tournament teams. Minnesota probably is. Thats 6 pretty much close to locks. Northwestern is definately a bubble team and if Penn State keeps playing well, they may be on the bubble as well.

I don't think that ISU will loose another home game the way they are playing so at worst that would put ISU at 7-9 in conference. If they could pull one out on the road bumbs them to 8-8 which is very reasonable.

It's because all 11 teams are in his top 78, the worst being Iowa.

The Big XII has Tech and OU around 140 weighing it down.

What jumped out at me from the kenpom conf standing for the big 10 is how much all of the teams in the league slow the game down. There is only one team in the big 10 in the top 150 in kenpom's adj tempo stat, and that's Iowa at 119.

I have never seen that Fan Match before.. That is pretty interesting, I'll have to check that out more often and watch the game of the day and see how good it really is!

Currently predicting we finish 8-8 in conference, giving us 54% chance of a win over Okie St.

Most interesting to me is the prediction for KSU to finish 6-10 in conference.:wideeyed:

Thoughts?

54% to win at OSU...I disagree with that. I give us a decent chance but not over 50%. Of course I'm not using math to predict. Just history and the thought that we are even teams on a neutral court.

Yep, that is too optimistic even with a healthy DG and Scotty. I would be very surprised with a win tonight.

More KenPom goodness...he has our game against OSU as the #2 game to watch in terms of "Thrill Factor".

FanMatch

I have no idea what goes into the "Thrill Factor" but Texas A&M at Texas is #4. Not sure how that isn't #1. But I've never seen that before. KenPom is easily the best site during basketball season.

Apparently it is a very complex formula that takes into account 23 different factors that was developed with psychologists help to determine what games will be the most exciting for fans of college basketball... Seems like a good thing to me!!!
