Re: Did they choke?

I'd call it running out of gas.

Re: Did they choke?

Yes, but it happens. Not pleased with it but it is not the end of the world (or season) to lose on the road in OT to a solid Big 12 opponent when you only play 7 peeps...

If I ever saw that Keaton Paige in a dark alley, I'd have no problem breaking one of his legs. What a ******. How do you let that guys have a wide open 3 when you're up by 3??

lol i had some unkind words for him as well.

Love this team, and they are overachieving, but its incredibly frustrating because we can all now play the 'what if' card.

Leads late in games turning into losses: UNI, Cal, Nebraska, OSU. They blew their lead against Creighton too, but lucked out on GMac being a cursed individual.

In any given year in the B12 there is very little difference between the 4th best team and the 9th or 10th best team. The 4th or 5th place team wins these games, the 9th or 10th loses a lot of close games. The margin is razor thin, a play here, a play there.

Defense just wasn't good enough down the stretch. Too many stupid plays. Just makes me sick to waste that kind of performance. Need some quality wins on the road and that would have been one.

Curtis Shaw, supervisor of officials for Big 12, was at the game. I'm sure these jokers will get a big thumbs-up from that idiot. The Ejim technical was probably his idea.

Next year's team should have a chip on their shoulders.

Hopefully they can live up to the hype.

You know, take a step back and think about it. We used to lose these kinds of tough games to tough teams by a few points AT HOME the last few years. This year, we are upset about losing these games on the road. big improvement.

Re: Good effort

The effort was good but some people are pretending OSU is a good team. Maybe to make themselves feel better, I'm not sure. They aren't any good. There's a reason we were only a 2-3 pt underdog in their building tonight. I had every expectation that we would win tonight. Or at the very least not have a comfortable lead late and blow it in our pants.

I feel that with Ejim, he's much better than godfrey when it comes to starting. I'm not sure if I'd really want Ejim out there during the last couple minutes though. Especially after the Nebraska game and tonight, Nebraska was a little tacky but we can't afford to make those mistakes in late game like tonight.

Re: Good effort

Agreed. We should be proud that we are hanging with deeper/more talented teams on the road. Lots of positives to look forward to in the future. If we are doing this with this team, what will we do when we can run 10-12 solid players out there next year?

I'm telling you, our new basketball strategy is simple.

1. Duck your head into opposing player's elbow while he isn't paying attention.
2. Opposing player must be ejected by NCAA rule.
3. Repeat 4-12 times as necessary to eject all opposing players.

I will say.....That techincal was bogus. Grow a par of balls. You could clearly see the OSU guy throw his arm (aka punch) into our guy...

A GOOD ref crew would have said "double fould yada yada.....
OK I'm glad someone else saw it the same way I did. How the refs could review it and STILL get it wrong is beyond me. It looked to me like after they got tangled Ejim was actually trying to RESIST escalating things, then the OSU player slammed his arms down. Complete BS technical.

Re: Good effort

I agree. I am much more disappointed for these kids than I am for myself. They fight like hell, and do not give up. There are so many ISU teams in the past that just roll over when they're down 7-12 points. These kids don't. They just keep playing.

A couple of mistakes, and questionable calls, and that's enough to lose you a game. It's going to happen on the road. If you can steal one on the road in the Big 12, it's huge. If not, just protect the home court.

I can tell you right now, both the players and this staff expect to win every game.

Bubu had a great game. If we handled the ball better under pressure we would have won.

Not sure why everyone is so angry. It would have been our first win there in over 20 years. Let's focus on the team getting better and winning a lot of games in Hilton. Any road wins will be gravy.

don't even know what to say right now. Happy we've made strides this year, but we've got to win that one. We really gave them the game and when every win is so important for us to get to post season play this one really hurt as the Nebby game did too. Tonight was about us not being tough minded there at the end. Instead of playing determined to win at the end, we played scared to lose. Effects of McD basketball from our leaders out there.....Scotty, JVB, and DG. Ejim really looked like a freshman out there tonight too. Alot of good times ahead of us, but really disappointed in the toughness of our team tonight.

Are there any good teams? :skeptical:
