Not sure exactly what kind of music you are into but for those who like hip hop i usually recommend the Blue Scholars. This link is their new track Lumiere. It uses an awesome sample from "Intro" by The xx. I don't think it's released yet but should be in a couple months. If you're into this song I could definitely recommend some more along the same lines.

What are some new songs everyone is listening to? I have been listening a lot to the new(ish) Kid Cudi album and some of the Lupe Fiasco album that is coming out in a couple months.

I'm looking to get some new songs for when I work.

Where did you get your hands on the Lupe Fiasco album?

Buying the new Red album today with Christmas money I didn't spend on our new Garmin Nuvi (yeah, I've got a Droid, I shouldn't need a new GPS system - but I just wasn't a fan of the one on my phone and wanted a separate device).

Does anyone from earlier have any specific songs to check out it's a lot of music to wade through.
Ratatat Remixes vol. 1 - Fix Up, Run; vol 2 - Party & Bullsh*t, Glock Nines

Those are my two personal favorites from each, but the entire compilations are really good.

I have been listening to Sigur Ros, an Icelandic band. I got their dvd Heima for XMas. Highly reccomend it, they palyed a series of concerts in their homeland, beautiful scenery and music. This led me to another Icelandic band - For a Minor Reflection. Listened to some of their tunes on-line. Pretty good stuff. They started out as a Pink Floyd cover band and are playing original compositions now.

These are a few albums I have picked up over the last year that I think are well worth a listen. All of them are in the Alternative vein.

Album: Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
The whole album is good but their main singles "The Suburbs" and "Ready To Start" are the highlights.

Album: Tokyo Police Club - Champ
Good album. Their lead single "Wait Up (Boots of Danger)" is the best song on the album.

Album: Ra Ra Riot - The Orchard
Best song by far is their single "Boy" but the rest of the album is unique and interesting.

Album: OK Go - Of The Blue Color of the Sky
A bit of a departure from their previous albums but still quite good. Their first single "This Too Shall Pass" is quite good as is the rest of the album.

That's all I have for now for "new" music. Though a lot of stuff might be new to you.

Shout out to Al here. A Drive By Truckers album was on the $5 list at Amazon and I decided to try it out. Good stuff.
