That's too bad. Keno is a good coach. Maybe he will have more success somewhere in the Midwest.

Lost to DePaul this year...at home! That is a good sign of how the season went for Providence.

Not enough time to be quite honest. Keno can coach. They expect to much at Providence. He also had some problems right away with transfers.

If he would've stayed at Drake another year, he probably could've gotten a better position out east.

Who knows if he's a good coach or not? The Big East is such another animal relative to the MVC. He isn't a proven recruiter, which is what you need at a Big East school the most. It is too bad he couldn't stay at Drake, because they could have put together something special... Good for us though, as I hated seeing us lose to Drake :)

He can't coach. The one good year he had at Drake he just let the players play and they happened to have great chemistry. It wasn't like he was coaching them. His first year at Providence was OK... but then he had to start playing with players he recruited... for the first time in his life. Just another case of somebody trying to ride in on dads resume....

Keno's teams apply no defensive effort, and run no offensive sets. Fans are very frustrated that there's no accountability in place to run a system.
Again, the defense is awful. Even opponents with limited skills have gone wild on Providence.

That all takes care of itself if the team wins games. Part of that system is letting them run free. When you have good players it works; when you don't, it doesn't.

Providence is 10th in the nation in tempo... Their defensive efficiency is 149th, which is still better than average.... Teams are scoring a lot because they are getting more possessions. If they slowed it down, then teams would score less...

Agreed. They're a "have not" in a league full of "haves." I do think the jury is still out on his coaching ability a little bit, but given some time, I think he could see some success. Does he have a TJO type recruiter on his staff? You can't win in a power conference without the ponies.

Just watch them play - there is no help D, and opponents drive unchallenged for lay-ups. Last night's Marquette game was a great example.
It was a big game for Providence, and there was no effort. None.

Failing at Providence in the Big East, is like failing at Vandy or Mississippi St in the SEC (football). It doesn't necessarily mean that you're not a good coach.

I'm not sure what the rush to dump Keno would be. Its not like Pitino is coming back.

We had a two headed version of this: McD offense and Wayne's defense. CFH finally has it figured out.

He has? Our defense hasn't been great, and we typically only score a lot if the 3 ball is falling...

Getting a little ahead of ourselves there since our defense was ranked last or second to last in the B12 in almost every category.

Agree it is getting ahead of the game, but defense is the thing that suffers the most from a short bench. We didn't have the bodies to play the type of defense that needs to be played, and most of our bodies were freshman who weren't ready for the rigors of Big 12 play. NExt year will show if Hoiberg is committed to that side of the ball.
